After coming to power. How can you expect anyone to do anything without any power?
Every party will confidentally boast about getting a majority in the assembly. This is only to bost the morale of their cadres. The reality will of course be known with the results.
- The Congress attracted maximum applicants per constituency - there are virtual stampede of applicants. The JD(S) the least. - The Congress still attracts maximum defections. The JD(S) none at all. In fact, it looks that the sheep is deserting the JD(S) lock stock and barrel.
In 2004 Lok Sabha elections the BJP won more than half the seats but could not repeat the same performance for the Assembly elections. Among reasons was that in the Lok Sabha, the stature of Vajpayee came into play and not the likes of local politicians.
Besides BJP's image has suffered due to:
a. Fanning Kannadiga-Tamil disunity in the Hoggenakkal issue b. Selling of tickets to the highest bidder, diregarding winnability of candidates c. Bellary mining mafia controlling the party. In fact, why the JD(S) transfer to BJP did not take place was because the JD(S) objected to this mafia accorded cabinet status d. Packing selection list with only Lingayat candidates, reinforing the image that the BJP in Karnataka is a Lingayat party, alienating it from other communities
On basis of these pointers, the Congress seems favorites to win the elections especially with the base of the JD(S) disintegrating. The return of SM Krishna consolidates the Vokkaliga vote bank behind Congress.
There is high possibility of non-Lingayata communities adopting tactical voting against the BJP.There is high possibility of non-Lingayata communities adopting tactical voting against the BJP. These include Vo

Congress got satisfied with bronze twice in last 10 years. Once in 1994, JD finished first, BJP second, congress third. In 1996 loksabha election again JD first, BJP second, Congress third. Luckily in 2004 due to hype about Vajpayee in Delhi and Krishna in Bangalore many sure BJP seats in Bangalore and some in other places like Hubli went to congress to make them claim silver medal instead of getting satisfied with bronze again. In 2008 congress is going to reach the state of party in Bihar or UP with BJP being overwhelming winner, BSP making impact, JD(S) retaining around 20 seats and congress struggling to reach half century.
Congress is firm on checking division of anti-BJP votes
Bangalore: Seat-sharing talks between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress have failed.
SP State unit president S. Bangarappa returned empty-handed after holding discussions with Congress leaders in New Delhi on Thursday.
The Samajwadi Party had reportedly demanded that the Congress give it 60 seats in the Assembly elections. This was not agreeable to the Congress, according to sources in the party.
Delay
The delay in the announcement of the final list by the Congress high command was because of the seat-sharing talks with the SP, the sources said.
The Congress wants to prevent division of the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party votes at all costs.
Opportune time
The Assembly elections have come at an opportune time to test its experiment of consolidating the secular forces, first in Karnataka. The Congress has already started weaning away important leaders like the former Deputy Chief Minister M.P. Prakash and Anil H. Lad, a prominent BJP MLA in the previous Assembly.
Its alliance with Mr. Bangarappa, if it had been materialised, was seen as a move to hurt the BJP%u2019s electoral prospects in Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and some pockets in Mysore, Bagalkot and Davangere districts. According to Congress sources in New Delhi, AICC president Sonia Gandhi had already been briefed by SP president
Congress had plan A. Postpone election at any cost in the name of delimitation. Election commission did not allow it. Then they asked Karunadhi to bark like a mad dog in the name of Hogenakkal hoping that it would result in lot of violence. That too did not happen. Now plan B. Air drop Kaliyuga Krishna from Maharashtra governorship to Karnataka for Election. After that plan surverys showed congress would struggle to reach previous election figures. Now time for plan C. Make alliance with Bangarappa who is in poor health and give him 15 seats. Already state congress with 10 factions have to accomodate one more ex congressman.
The final plan Plan D do anything. Support JD(S) where it is main competitor to BJP. Support BSP where it is main competitor to BJP. Support BJP rebels if possible (But many of them Sangh Parivar people like Shakuntala Shetty in Putturu) and hope for hung assembly and claim it as a victory if they can somehow manage alliance with JD(S) which may get 20 seats. I think like Gujarat congress is for a big disappointment with BJP already much ahead and congress still figuring out nominations with 10 factions fighting each other.
Cant understand the hype around SM Krishna in Rediff messages.No1 cares about him outside Bangalore.Karnataka is not Bangalore only. In north Karnataka , Managlore, Bellary BJP is in dominant position.
India must have reservations till 85% of marriages are inter-caste. Till then, Vote for Candidates from YOUR Caste only. Do not care if he is Corrupt or Competent.

Funny USA, If a person is inter-caste, how will he be termed? Caste A or Caste B or casteless or Forward Caste or Backward caste or MBC or SC or SC? There is no answer to this from the Government. If a forward caste man marries a lower caste woman, his progeny are forward and are not eligible for reservations.
BJP winning in Karnataka? BJP couldnt have more embarrasment in history than it had in Karnataka for the past 1-2 years. Its better for BJP not to field any candidate and save their face!
