Vote against Congress!
by bhanu gotluru on Apr 16, 2008 11:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In this age of reservations, there are 2 kinds of parties
1. Parties that proactively impose reservations
2. Parties who cannot oppose reservations, as their votes will be affected.

Congress belongs to #1.
Let's vote out Congress, even if that means voting for party that falls in #2.

Let us stand united and defeat the Congress, and teach them a lesson. Let's not divide the anti-congress vote.

Don't be cynical that all political parties are bad. Let's vote out the "Worse" party, even if that means we have to vote for a "Bad" party.

Why are you so prejudiced about BJP? Virtually they were ruling last 2 years in Karnataka and how many rapes did you see? How many temples were destroyed? Are you a muslim using a Hindu name?

Your conclusion is wrong Mr. Bhanu
There is one party who impose reservation out of conviction. They me be wrong in some respects and there is other party # 2 which have no conviction at all and adopt/ change their conviction as per the need of their poll prospects so Party #1 is better than Party #2 so we should voted out Party # 2 ie: BJP

They need muscle and money to fight!
by Junglee on Apr 16, 2008 11:12 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The idea is good and appealing to common man. But, how they can expect to win elections just by educated appeals? They seem to have misjudged the criminal power of the other parties who use extensively their muscle and money strength more than their appeal to the minds of people. The fight is uneven and weaker has to go to the wall! Unfortunate but true! Nevertheless, I would always vote for such principled approach.

Establish your credibility
by Sam on Apr 16, 2008 10:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Couple of points in this article made me uncomfortable. Is this party run by only IT professionals and highly qualified (read IIT alumni) individuals? If yes, they will not go very far.

The second point that alarmed me is their receiving funds from industralists. Who are these funders? Some of them must be funding other political parties as well. If yes, how is Lok Paritran Party (LPP) different from others?

The idea is good but the LPP needs to establish its credentials first to ensure that it does not remain a fringe player in Indian political landscape.
