"They know little of the hardships that poor Dalits, and other economically depressed classes, face at the hands of the OBC 'creamy layer'" Actually I am always saying whenever there is a debate on reservation. This OBC reservation is nothing but rewarding the opressor
OBC means Other backward Classes socially and educationally.
if that is the full form then: 1. how does a OBC candidate called a OBC if he is a graduate. 2. Economically if he can afford the fees of IIMa and IITs then he is niether economically backward???? 3. When this reservation END if applicable from this year as the purpose of this is to bring OBC forward so it has to have a timline or else if this does not happen it will mean this is not serving the purpose.

As long as any community remains socially discriminated, an individual qualifies to an OBC status.
The idea is to create a citical mass n society of inflential OBC ideologue, businessmen, academicians etc adequate enough to act as a counterweight to caste oppression.

IF even getting higher marks I am not allowed admission in an IIM coz I am a brahmin and someone OBC gets it even at low marks Coz he is an OBC is also an DESCRIMINATION.......................................... so Iam an OBCCCCC

Well for 2,000 years, the reverse applied. Brahmins, even if a third rate was preferred to other candidates, even if they were first class

You are making false allegations. It was not Brahmins but the rulers of the country who favored their kith and kin.
You just cant blame all problems on Brahmins or even caste differences. Its the people in power who have misused the quota system.

There are many third rated, rich and influential OBC's who go on peddling these sort of lies.If brahmins oppressed you brainless lot for 2000 years, then you deserve being oppressed.if some one were to do the same to me I believe I would nopt take it lying down.Use your piddly little brains instead of using the toilet tissue certificate called caste certificate. You brainless lot may feel that the more the toilet tissue certificate is used the better. You may revere it, but any one with a few neurones will be disgusted at the thought of using the used toilet tissue aka caste certificate.

We are living in a country where exploitation after 60 years of independence is still going on by the politicians by some reason or other. They want to divide the whole country for their votes.Mayawati after becoming CM is still Dalit ki Beti.Paswan still-Dalit.
to make 100% reservation fr SC/STs/BC and minorities.... why u people are killing us slowly.. just kill us in one instance bcoz u never knw a wounded enemy is more dangerous... so enjy ur time ... never knows wen the tide flows backward and then these people will get to taste their own bloooddddd...
It used to be said IITians are the cream of the nation - much of it may be untrue - but that is a myth every IIT student was fed into when they entered the hallowed portals of IITs after getting a good rank in IIT JEE. In the IIT hierarchy - the only thing that ever mattered was the JEE rank you got ...nothing else really matters or will matter. Many people seem to forget that IITs produce as many MTechs as BTechs but the status of these MTEchs is far lower than even a BTech of RECs . The employers also follow a similar thing while hiring - the JEE rank is the first question any interviewer asks in a prospective interview or the application form. In fact the students put that down themselves and those who do not are considered as non-merit unless back with a good CGPA.
so the story is 49.5% of IITians really have no scope to cash in on IIT degree unless they are very good in academics . a pathetic story ...just like changing my surname to Ambani does not mean profits from next day . People will immediately know I am fake.
This must be removed from SC/ST also so as to speed up the social justice, today they are eating all the seats from the poor SC/ST needy.Needy SC/ST are therefore are in a very bad shape.

there is still no creamy layer amongst SC/ST. I wish they have it soon. I think the creamy layer must have reservations in SC/ST as they act as role models for rest of the community.
The case for OBCs are different - many OBC castes are actually forward castes !! And unlike SC/ST - OBCs have never faced untouchability and social stigma which is still very very strong.

I know around me about 50 SC/ST in different positions in GOI, they all are creamy layers-SWARN bow before them. whereas I find many poor untouchables-still untouchables. So long we categorise the SC/ST as a vote bank politics, the purpose of social equality will not be served for another 100 years,
The real problem of the country is population boom. Reservation is not an answer to this. We have to import huge quantity of wheat, Dal, Crude oil etc for the increasing population. In 1947 the population of undivided India was 33 crores. Now only our population is about 105 crores. Whereas the land and all other natural resources r limited and same as before. In addition to increase in population, the per capita energy consumption is also increasing very fast. All this has caused vast degradation of natural resources. Water and air have got polluted. Sub soil water table has gone down. There was no bottled water 15 years ago, but due to pollution, bottled water is becoming a norm. Roads of all big and small towns r jammed with traffic. Forest land is getting depleted. Many plant and animals r getting extinct. Global warming is taking place.
The solution is forcefully enforcing one child norm on the lines of China, who started this policy in 1979 together with opening up its economy. It is worth mentioning here that land area of China is many times that of ours. Had China not done so, there would have been a few crore more people on the earth.
Most of the religious leaders, Muslims, Christians, Hindus etc, foolishly ask people of their religion to have more children. It is catastophic. They should know that God and Nature do not distinguish on the basis of religion.
The population of developed countries stabilised long ago, same thing is required elsewhere as well.

I agree fully except the part that developed countries have a stabilised population. Its not true. Europe has destroyed its nature long time back and is still overpopulated.

Why not Govt. asked these people who are covered under reservation-not to have more than one child as their contribution to the nation.
RE:The real problem

Its so good to hear from an Indian praise about the one child policy. With food and water getting scarce and food riots already happening in Haiti, it seems too late to save the environment of the earth. But there is no other way but to reduce the population by exercising strict birth control. Religions and the capital will always want people to multiply, former to have more followers and latter to have cheaper and cheaper labour. These two entities being in power almost everywhere in the world except maybe in China, the world is going to get destroyed day by day and there is nothing being done at all.
Very bad decision for General Category students. I know 5-6 SC families who are very rich people and still their children have taken admission this year thru SC quota.
This is one more example how politicians play with poor peoples aspiration. Rather protecting their legal and legitimate right and make them proud citizen they kills the emotional burst and make them again in begging and politicians to play thier dirty games. One hand Brahmin and Baniya playing their games and now politicians and judiciary is repeating same act and playing n the hand of Brahmins and Baniyas

After all what is harm in accepting caste not economic issues nothing wrong in giving them if they are from backward class. Economic skimmy layer is articificial impedimnts.

Dear Bhajiya
I fully disagree with you on this. SC has clearly played on the side of the 'poor people' which you had mentioned. Infact, most of the level-minded people in this country support reservation based on economic criteria - poor should get reservation atleast for one generation. However, these OBCs leaders like Paswan, Ramdoss, Karuna and their coterie who had amassed wealth still want reservation for their family members, just becoz they are from a so-called backward caste. This is sheer cheating of the very people which they pretend to protect. Anbumani Ramadoss, in a recently tv interview could not substantiate why his family & people similar to him, should get reservation. He kept harping on that post-mandal implementation (1993 onwards), the only 5.4% of the govt jobs were filled, rest remained vacant becoz of the creamy layer, but still lot of people want reservation in SC/ST/OBC. If that is the case, then we should look at providing decent primary/secondary education for these people before you jump into offering them the reservation at higher education institutes. So, these OBC lobby in the govt definitely want to have reservation for their castes so that they can tell their caste people that they have achieved what their community people wanted so that they can continue to vote based on caste lines rather than with real policy for the growth of the country. So why cast unnecessary aspersions on Brahmins and Baniyas...this is a real hypocracy.
