It is followed atleast from more than 2500 (from budhism period)..birth dates of ram and krishna... many religion came and many are the worst peak and many will die.. till today the Jambu dweepa people will beleive and carry their idols (Ram and krishna) together and forever..in other way ram and krishna are strong enough to stay in their sacred hearts with Love and Ethical human behaviour.. Atleast ram exists till the moon exists as it is ninth day in chaitra masa..morathan that both exists till the universe exists as they are evident by the star positions..not just Local evidences.
I think this article is a very nice effort. I f nothing else those 'slave minded' writers should learn from the great study done by Dr Satya Pal Singh. merely cut and paste from western books is not going to help any more.
don't use science to prove myths please. That says you believe more in modern maths and proof-based belief system (called science). Science has without doubt proved human beings started using languages about 5000 years only. If you say Rama live in India 100,000 years back, you are proving he was an illiterate. Please don't dishonor the god of our beautiful imagination and faith.

I found this article shocking for many reasons. I find Indian mythology interesting, and while I will not speculate on the truth or lack of it in things such as Ram, because i'm ill informed about it, i find it alarming that this writer has cherry picked random information from all over the place to make a story. It just doesn't stick. Almost all the assertions they he has made, whether it is about astronomical calculations, evolution, nature of earth and life forms here, etc. is completely wrong or used out of context. Find a better way of proving or disproving your ideology. Please.
Even if we accept that Ram did born and walked on this earth, what does it prove. how does that make him the GOD.
Moreover, its more important to do research on Valmiki, instead of Ram. When was Valmiki born and how did he came to know about Ram in such great details, the author of the article himself accepts that Ram was born so far back that no evidence of his existance can survive the time, if that so then how come Valmiki got to know about it. Ramayana is not a small story, it is huge talking not only about Ram but many other charecters, how could valmiki gather this information unless it is a frigment of his imagination.
The fact of the matter is. Those who belive Ram did born will believe anyway and those who dont will lough at this article.
