Good for u ... then read the Rig Veda and Upanishads, they are the only scientific religious books

The rig veda accurately predicts the speed of light (Verse 1.50) as also the exact time taken by light to reach earth from sun

NEITHER DEVS ... just the concept that light is a wave and it travels - to predict that is enchanting enuff for a book written 6500 years ago ... to actually determine the speed definitely points to some higher consciousness on the part of writers

Heartiest Cngratulations !!!!!!!!
by neeraj shrivastava on Apr 14, 2008 10:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Heartiest Cngratulations !!!!!!!! to Dr. Satya paul Singh for writing such a well researched article. the problem with indians is that they always question their literature while easily accept the literature written else where in the world. I do believe that a man with supreme character named Ram lived on earth, and no literature in world can match the teachings regarding the values of life better than the Ramayana. But as u mentioned its "kalyug", so no issues with the non-believers also, surely the day will come when there eyes will open to see beyond the "evidence" to prove anything.

Best Regards,

Neeraj

Ideal man
by sri on Apr 14, 2008 09:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Rama is considered an Avatar of Vishnu. He is also thought to be an ideal man of that time, someone who even now is worthy of emulation (truth, courage, virtue etc). The historicity of his life should not be of much concern. As for the bridge, there are more important concerns such as environmental etc that have not even been addressed by this excuse for a Govt.

Rama's selfless service attitude, going to the forest to keep his father's word, lakshman following as an ideal brother,
hanuman - an ideal follower ...

then rama's role as an ideal king, even in warfare he respected todays' modern protocols of chivalry ...

finally the sacrifice of sita to leave the palace to protect the dignity of the throne even when she was pregnant, so that the throne remained above preceived blemish

Thanks

Whose interpretation ?
by Cool Santh on Apr 14, 2008 09:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The scientific interpretation of the photographs of the remains of Adam's Bridge (Ram Setu) taken by NASA's [Images] Gemini-11 spacecraft in 2002, reveals that this ancient bridge linking India to Sri Lanka [Images] was manmade, and it was dated to be at least 1.75 million years old.

Ram?
by Cool Santh on Apr 14, 2008 09:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Either Ram is God but not human or Ram is human but his miracles are fictious.

I dont question the existence of Ram as a king but I doubt he is an avatar. He may have won the war against Ravana but the so-called miracles are just a fiction.

No one including Rama himself, never claimed that he is super human.
He stricly reminded that he is the mortal, son of Dasaratha and so on.
