After a long time I am seeing a posting which is valid ,perfect and India's most needed.CASTE is a social evil which causes all the problem.If you ask me people are the real culprit not the politicians becoz they never fight for caste they do only for money.Our people will always vote for a wrong person just becoz of same caste,religion,language,regional etc.When they stop doing this things will be alright. if we fail to do this then even 10000 rams,jesus,allah can't save Indians.
I would like to thank Dr Satya Pal Singh for writing this beautiful article. Hindu Dharma has been maligned since last 300 years by Western Scholars by spreading disinformation, distorting facts and with plain lies. This is still continued by our own pseudo-secular Hindus to gain political mileage. It has been a common practice for these corrupt politicians to abuse those Hindus who are proud of their religion by calling them as fundamentalists and use them as punching bags to gain votes of minority community. It is about time for present Hindu generation to realize these facts and take more interest in learning and practicing our great religion.
When I started reading I thought some novice rediff writer wrote this article, but hurt to see that a police commissioner wrote this article. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anything on this article. But honestly speaking how much respect will you have for New York Times if they publish a similar article on Jesus? In a secular country, lets try our best to keep religion as a personal thing. Let those who are interested in knowing more about Ram's history and life story to to temples and learn it. But please not publish it in Rediff IA, I have lost all respect for Rediff today. Don't play the cheap card.

Rediff did good job becuase you people always ask for Ram's evidences. We never asked about evidences of Abraham/ jesus. When writter is writing about ram is not good and if he write about muhommad/ jesus then it is good. All gods are good. Why u hate others god/relision. u should be proud. What happens? The article was published beause of all the hue and cry about evidences. If similar things happened in US, are you such a fool to think there would not be any article like this? Stop whining and grow up!!
A very good intellectual exercise. Many may disagree for various reasons - political, ideological, etc., Though the time calculations is beyond my comprehension mention of many things here are certainly eye openers.
I am in England and here the Govt. as well as the people take pride in their History. They want to project and preserve their past even though it may be quite insignificant. Stonehenge is a nearby place. I visited it and found that it is just positioning of gigantic stones by prehistoric men. It is a great tourist attraction here. It even competed for the Modern 7 wonders of the world status.
I am thinking we have so many pre historic and historic sites which is being desecrated and destroyed not by foreigners but by our own people and Govt.
After coming here I have discovered many Indians have started learning Indian Classical Dances and Sangeethams from Srilankans. Because I am told this is a compulsory subject in schools for these Lankans. Can you think of making this compulsory in Indian Schools?

Why all hindus are trying to collect data and prove Ram as a GOD. It is the matter of faith and once you have faith no substantial evidence or proof works, specially in the case of soul and divine forces, The weakest part of hinduism is to correlate whole literature wiith the present time. No doubt all kings warriors born before us were Noble and great man, but why should we need proof, to prove our faiths.

Jews / Christians and Muslim have high regards for these men and consider them as prohpet sent my Allah. These men are not considered as GODs. If there is a proof of Ram who was also a great warrior and noble king and ideal son / elder brother / husband. then have regards for him as human beings. Why to label him as GOD and worship Ram? Devine force should be must be devoid of all human emotions and human feelings. Muslims worship Allah who is the only one. HE is neither father nor son of any one. HE has been ALIVE since begnning and will remain so FOREVERE. He doesn't sleep or get tired or feel hungry.HE IS THE ULTIMATE CREATOR of the whole universe and HE KNOWS everything even if it is size smaller that of item. All were saints (Ram - hindu saint, Mohhamd - muslim saint, jesus- christan saint). Why are you tring to show that your god is great. God is always god it is your or ours. Please be together with all religion and do not fight for the sake of selfishness. Did you see prof mohommad? You also believe. I also did not see Ram but he is my beleif. We all are same and our blood is red? What about your? Is it green? Our colors may be different but we are living being. We proud to be indian(not hindu/muslim/sikh/marathi). Correct if i am worng. Is there any problems if I worship Durga or Shiva? I am a big devotee of Vishnu too. Are you happy with that?

Mr.N, you do not have to do farther than Bhagavatam to infer that God took the form of Lord Rama. The stuff you have written is largely old hat. Dont expect a drum roll for exprerssing what is known. The eternal religion does not shackle god in any way. If he wishes, he can and does take various forms to please his children and purify the world and shower kindness.
