Scarlett's death

What happened was sad. But blaming entire India is immature. And your reckless comments will affect Indian Tourism, which India doesn%u2019t deserve from you guys (who lives abroad and do not know what is really happening even in abroad.)

pathetic comment. no surprise, when the country is full of people who would rather care about tourism, IT and their public image that about justice and rightiousness.
I bet this especially holds true for people living outside india, who dont care a heck wat happens wat happens in the country as long as it stays out of the newspapers.

Where were you when the britishers treat indians like non-humans...racism. Remember the Shilpa shetty episode..agreed she is an actress and she does her own gimmicks and garbage...but the main point is, if such a popular is treated like that on a show viewed by the world, what opinion you think they have of us? Agreed again india has lots of corruption, and it has to be dealt with, but why not pick up an internal matter to discuss that, and why pick this garbage biased article to tell your opinion. I am not telling you are wrong or any Indian is wrong, all I am saying is lets unite in the face of the enemy

are u for real. what does shilpa shetty hav to do with this episode. i dont care how she was treated in a realty show, coz i dont live there. all i care is how people are treated in this country. people trivialise the issue on the lines of racism and neglect. dont go around in loops, the truth is about a 14 yr old being raped and murdered and how our society respond to it. so far i havent seen anything mature about it.

but India does get some blame for its police trying to do a cover up. crime happens but when police sides, not with the victim or his/her family, but instead does a coverup on events, it shows on the administartion.

In india, we all know, the administration is corrupt and good cops are hard to find ... som, one event does tell you a lot about the whole country. yes, not all cops are bad and all all coroners in india sell organs ... but it confirms or atleast raises a doubt that some do.

It's a scary place for foreigners ... but not as scary as pakistan is ... LOL

Scarlett's death.

Some rubbish Indians who live abroad blame entire Police system in India. Some of them went a little bit more ahead by talking about Indian democracy and a few of them don%u2019t proud to be an Indian. Just because an irresponsible, stupid, junky British woman went to India with her 6 children and her boyfriend with out sufficient money to live there and let her daughter to wander with local rowdies and drug dealers and got killed by them. After coming in UK she was blaming India for her daughters death. In Briton, last month a criminal raped a stabbed dying teenager (model). In Briton criminals are interested to rape children and also in child pornography. There are places in every part of the world where you can%u2019t send your daughter or sister with local drug dealers. How many teenagers are being killed in UK every weekend? Is US free from these kinds of criminality? Or is there any other country, which is better than India to deal with these kinds of mess? Get lost all rubbish Indians, who blame India. India doesn%u2019t need your certificate.

Not the entire police force dude... Only some of the police indulge in rape and cover-up scams. Others are more interested in pulling off fake encounters. The remaining just dont care a damn what happens to the public. In other countries, corrupt police are dealt with properly. It is only in india that they have political pull to get away with mnurder. And dont give me that crap about junky woman leaving her minor daughter with strangers and all... Bottom line is that there was a crime and the police tried to cover it up. Guilty should be punished...

As I had said crime happens everywhere but where do the criminals get away with it so easily like in India.

How many culprits have ever gone to jail. Do you know half the MLAs/MPs in the parliament have criminal cases including murder. Shahabuddin is an MP sitting in jail and there are many like him,

Tell me on MP in UK or a senator in US who has been involved in organized crime.

Criminal Politician nexus is nowhere rampant like it is in India. Even in Pakistan the millitary keeps the politicians in check.

People and officials commit crime because they know they can easily get away with it. There are absolutely no checks on them in practice.

I suggest relaxing the gun laws so that every family can buy one. This will at least instill fear in the bad guys.

India is becoming a dangerous place due religion and caste extremism.
So providing licensed guns to responsible citizens and community policing may be a good step. Here are my arguments favoring relaxed gun laws.
1)Goons have guns and guns are available for purchase in any part of india if you want.
2)Any time a riot can happen on religious or communal issues and the general public is thrown pretty open for looting.
3)Police is not socially responsible in many states - It is communal and casteist and heavily prone to bribery
4)People need a mechanism to protect themself

So relaxing the gunlaws may be a viable alternative. As you said in america kids shoot each other occassionally , but there is no mass riots anywhere.. So the solution would be to keep guns not in houses but in safe storage places , acessible to senior community members for use in case of emergency like riots.A commnity that is well armed have less chances of getting attacked..

Ofcourse, They don't do it directly. But, there are means and way to do it in other ways.

Hi Michael,

It is common knowledge that the stomach is removed in most of the autopsies to look for traces of any harmful substance in the stomach. Similarly kidneys could, I mean, could be removed to trace out any of the poisonous substances. Since it has been alleged that she was raped, uterus was removed to find out the sperms of the culprit & conduct a DNA matching. No big deal since the police are not going to gain by collecting organs of a dead person.

Pathetic
by Top Gun on Apr 13, 2008 09:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is India.

I simply dont understand why these goras even come here. Look at Delhi these days. Car snatching/murders/rape (often by police) are a daily occurrence .

Now crime is fine as it does happen even in developed countries. Whats pathetic is the lack of justice in India. The perpetrators rarely get caught and are prosecuted.

Didnt 3 cops just rape a teenager this past week.

Just to add...

I think India should learn like US/Pakistan where every family keeps a few guns in the house. If the police cant help you then take your own sweet revenge.

This will at least instill fear in the bad guys (who keeps weapons anyway). This approach will also prevent mass riots.

It is such a big shame for all of us. DOnt our own girls drink ? I mean the call center girls, the discotheque girls etc. WHere was the justification to kill? TO leave a young inebriated girl or boy or anyone on the beach just before high tide by a local? And later to find that even her body parts are missing ? THis case is similar to the NOIDA child murder cases.
