Is it a good suggestion?
by www www on Apr 11, 2008 05:18 PM  Permalink

Govt should worry more of the people they are meant to serve than export companies' profit. So, my suggestion is that govt should allow rupee to appreciate naturally than rein it down.

fighting inflation
by Nandakumar R on Apr 11, 2008 05:14 PM  Permalink

Mumbai city and suburbs are based on society system where they 50 to 60 flats contribute one society. To those who are from mumbai society system, can buy bulk quantities and share among themselves. In that way one can fight the inflation. From rice to vegetables, books to dresses any thing common items can be purchased on bulk quantiy and reduce the cost of the products, thus u can save money.

beating the inflation
by Rajasekaran on Apr 11, 2008 05:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. Buy only seasonal vegetables.
2. Groceries like dried chillis, tamarind, dhal, etc., can be bought in whole sale market and families can divide among themselves.
3. Cut consumption of cigarettes, pan, liquour, etc.
4. Avoid eating out and going to theaters on week ends.
5. Buy only what is essentially needed. Postpone purchase of costly items like TV, fridge, watch, clothes, etc.
6. Try to use public transport as much as possible.
7. Never give up saving some money from monthly income.

Cost control
by ravi prasad on Apr 11, 2008 04:13 PM  Permalink

I am following the following strategy
Checking the price of goods at different stores an going for the cheapest store.
Buying vegetables at reliance fresh. but Groceris are costly here.
Buy rice in big quantities (25Kg bags) not in big retail stores
Going for offers like 50% more etc all the time
Buying as much as required.

Ruling party and opposition parties are frustrated from their income. They are not ready to come to help Indian poor. They daily go to mountains and say "democracy, democracy" and "freedom, freedom". Aam aadmi gets only slaps.

Rs 2 per kg Rice or Wheat
by usa on Apr 11, 2008 03:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Government should distribute 20 kg rice or wheat at Rs 2 per kg per ration card through Public Distribution System

1. Will have a 'cascading' effect on remaining food items and will help in reducing the prices and inflation.
2. Will create 'demand' for agricultural products and will 'prevent' farmers suicide.
3. Will prevent 350 million Indians 'starving' every day for a 2nd meal.

But Mr kamalnath minister saying that due to poor people getting two times meal a day. the prizes are soaring.
If govt give susidy its cascading effect is negative. who pay the susidy amount its again common men.
