was there a referendum during 1947 to create the state of pakistan; i think that this 2 nation theory was itself the biggest blunder. No problems with that too. may god bless both countries for their prosperity. During independence from british rule, the respective heads of state were assigned the task of aceding to whichever side they want to. Hari singh sidede with india and J&K was attacked by foreign power. Indian soldiers averted that hostility only nehru made it a UNO issue. If referendum is allowed in J&K now then why not in balochistan, NWFP of pakistan? The answer is there is no limit to which we can divide oueselves; but if we have our conscience clear and co-operate then both countries will prosper without counting the corpses of their citizens,

Agreed... But one correction...Hari singh was sided with India because he has no option left and India stipulated to merge Kashmir in India for helping him against the local and pakistani forces which were storming at the gates of srinagar. Balochistan and NWFP is not our Issue now...let those people fight for their rights... don't run here and there just to avert from our own responsibility... This Kashmeer issue has been headache now for last 60 years...either lets go on war against pak solve this issue at once...or be sensible and let there be refrendum. Remember ..war is not like we see in our bollywood movies...it affects our lives for years...

narindra, type kashmeer dispute in any ensyclopedia availabe online free on the internet...then you will know the answer... before partition, Pakistan, bangladesh, kashmir, tibet and "China occupied land of India" were all part of India. Kashmir was seperate state at the time of partition..and India forced Kashmir King at 11th hour to included it in India in response to help the king against Pakistani forces invasion...it is very complicated...

there can also be refrendum in sindh and nwfp..bordering afganistan...let them also decide....with whom they want to be????????????
RE:What UN says in this matter??
by asad syed on Apr 11, 2008 11:38 PM Permalink
sure sure... let there be refrendum everywhere...from palestine..to afghanistan..to america occupied Iraq..to sindh province of pak...to Saudi Arab ...everywhere....let the people give their own government and democracy... Infact..like in 1971 War, India should help Sindh and nwfp by all means to liberate them from Pakistan... But India should also at least formaly condemn the occupation of palestine by Israel...you know.. for sake of keeping the face....

If Palestine / Arab countries are ready to condemn the occupation of Kashmir by Porkistan, India will do the same.

We are not seeking any help from India for upliftment of our life standard that we take care here in TN. But they should behave honest to their conscious, No water from karnataka & Kerala, for irrigation and even for drinking, they don't bother wasting the water into the Sea, Indian Government is simply quite.
In Sri Lanka they are killing our Tamils, India is supplying arms to Sri Lanka. Why this two type of behaviour, one kind for Bangladesh, Palastin and other type for Tamils.
This pushing us to hate India, it is no way helpful rather than troubling us.
Irrespective of who controls Pakistan the policy is to Continue Proxy war, fund and train terrorists. All these while continuing 'peace' dialogue with India. Paki hope is one day there will be a commie or Mulayam type PM who will write off Kashmir from Indian Assets.
Congress morons - cant you see writing on the walls?
tHE tALK SHOULD BEHELD IF pAK ADMITS THAT j&k IS INTEGRAL PART OF iNDIA!iF PAK DOES NOT AGREE THEN LET US FORGET ABOUT TALKS WITH PAKIS !INDIA SHOULD PREPARE FOR ANY KARGIL TYPE OPERATION EVEN DURING THE TALKS AS THEY DID WITH NDA!NEVER TRUST PAK!

You have the other way arround I India. Pakistan says the same thing, withdraw troops from Indian held Kashmir or stalemate. So where do we go from here NO WHERE put it in the freezer. Only problem is India will eventually be outnumbered in the state, even some traces of hindus in the state will be gone in the next 20 years then it becomes even harder to do anything about it. Personally, Sirinagar belongs to pakistan for sure, the Raja of Kahmir who suppoedly ceded Kashmir to India had no right to do that, that task was entrusted to the departing Brits not Rajas. Simple formular MULSIM MAJORITY AREAS with borders of the newly proposed state JOIN THE NEW STATE. Punjab did the same? Muslims went West, Sikhs went East and the matter was closed? so whats the big deal with Kahsmir? I will tell you, India could not afford to it, Water WATER WATER sources of those rivers had to be in Indian hands which is why the cunning Brits decided to leave the matter open and create a war like atmosphere for the future. Truth is..INDIA HAS NO POSITION ON KASHMIR

Forget Kashmir. Pakis have no position on Pakistan. Pakistan is thriving on alms given by US. Take it from me, even if there is Muslim leadership in India, Kashmir wont go to Pakistan.

You Pak *ascal, shut up. Kashmir is and will continue to be integral part of india, whether Muslims are majority or anything there. We can bombard Islamabad so fiercely that Pak will not be able to raise its head for another hundred years.

Yes, this is going to be the message in a few days, as these jokers have said for tibet. Our dear communists will make people believe that - "If we give away kashmir to pakistan, china will give back tibet... lol..."

Modi should be entrusted to handle this issue
No Pakistani Government, whether civilian or military is going to go back on its position that all of Kashmir should be with Pakistan. No Pakistani politician can afford to. If inspite of all this, they do change their views, it will be welcome and the long running problem can be resolved once and for all.
