Left with small quota for general caste
by Anirudh on Apr 10, 2008 02:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Other way to look at it is, major chunk of the population called general caste would have a small qouta after allotting the quotas to the rest. This section would gradually get poorer. Competition would be sky high for this category. For all these judges, that hardly matters since they would send their kids abroad for study even if they can't achieve anything substantial here.

I am pro poor, but would say, give them free primary and secondary education(or even high secondary) with free food so that they can concentrate on studies. But let everybody compete equally for the best institutes. There should not be any reservations in IITs, IIMs n so on.

Sack Democracy
by sangudb on Apr 10, 2008 02:44 PM  Permalink

Its high time the Army kicks-out the democracy and takes over the nation. Else, we shall be the much behind Bangladesh & Pak on this planet in a few years from now.
Issues like Reservation, Population, Untouchability etc., cannot be addressed by any of the political parties. Only the army should take a stern step towards making India a better nation. Forget the democracy, none of the political parties will ever think of re-shaping India, all of them are power-grabbers.

OBCs- Break ur Karmic Cycle
by aus ant on Apr 10, 2008 02:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a party for, of and by Brahmins.
This statement will not fool anybody.
Even this verdict will not help the OBCs in the long run.
The mindset of the Brahmins need to change.
They vehemently believe in the manu smriti and the Karmic Cycle.
The only option for the oppressed Hindus to break their 'Karmic Cycle' is to convert to Christianity, Islam or Buddhism or the CPM.

I do not think there are that many brahmins in BJP. There are good brahmin guys who have never believed in Manu smriti. Ex: Subramanya Bharathi of TN.

I give u a suggestion as a bhramin ...
Reserve PM post for BC 100% that should solve the prob for all power grabbers and let us see what he can do ...
Today there are only three classes or castes as you say
Rich
middle
And poor ...
Reservation should be based upon this

India is 'democracy' and NOT 'meritocracy' like Singapore.
by usa on Apr 10, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hence it is imperative to appreciate socio-economic and cultural 'diversity' in Governance (Legislature,Judiciary,Administration) and in Private Institutions (Reliance, Infosys etc) in India.

Government should implement 'reservations' in Judiciary and in Private Institutions as per Caste and Religious census in India.

1. 52% of Judges should be from OBC.
2. 29% Judges should be Dalits and Tribals.
3. Remaining Judges should be from other castes.

What is This
by Pehchan Koun on Apr 10, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A Real Backward Class is very poor, who does not afford that his children can go school and take education he still think about the two time food only education is later part for him, if he can not educate his children what the use of the reservation for him, if one can not believe go to rural areas like Orisa, Bihar,West Bengal even every village. hardly any one will have gone to High school, So fisrt give them primary education provide them the resources first, if a Backward class person can compete for IIT &IIM MBBS he is not a Backward, he is well wealthy and can get anyware a good emplyoment.
