why not implement
by ralph nader on Apr 10, 2008 03:47 PM  Permalink

why all political parties give only minor % of seats or reserved constituencies only for oppressed--let them give max seats to these downtrodden to uplift them and let them run the country?

It may shame to every body. Proud for us who were depressed from 300 years.
You think you are safai kamgar, your son should be safai kamgar or he should take higher education.
If govt. gives concession of 5% to 10% of marks in competitive exam/admission, there will be no loss to general people. Is there any reservation in pvt.sector. You should give hand to those who have not developed in education/job.
You people are fully satisfied people, that's why you are criticising. Go to rural area/tribal area. Study and then comment.

Why not this
by Jai Babu on Apr 10, 2008 03:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Caste syatem is the biggest curse this country has. Why not provide within the maximum limit cap of 50% Quota(for SC/ST/BC/OBC, etc) as approved by the Supreme Court, a total of 20% reservation within that for People of mixed caste or mixed religion parentage. Over a period of 25-50 years this can be INCREASED to 30-35%. Thisis the only sensible way to pull out the country from the morass of class, caste & religious difference

caste is our greatest strength, it holds our religion, society together, caste can never be destroyed, we may however strive to eliminate inequality between castes, rivalry and other injustices etc.Remember you can only be born a hindu, there is no other entry into caste except by birth. Other religions however are open to all and you can become christian, muslim, jewish, whenever you desire!

Swamy welcomes SC judgement on quota
by siva sankar on Apr 10, 2008 03:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court judgement on reservation for OBCs in educational institutions but said the creamy layer should also benefit from the quota. "I welcome the Supreme Court judgement on reservation for OBCs. This will promote Hindu unity if creamy layer and increase in seats are also implemented," Swamy said in a statement. "I therefore urge all to accept the judgement," he said.

I think after few years open category would be recognised as MINORITY..If we give reservation to all, then open category would be in minority..Does it make any sense to have reservation...Its is saddest day in Indian History..After some years we will find reservation In railways, bus and also in sports also. Mr. Arjun Singh, bcoz of u this all happen..Tell me how much property sc/st peolple have...u find many people who r earning more than the open category..so all reservation is stupidity and those who all r supporting this are also idiots...

Recognition of minority should be based on castes and not by religion. Then the higher castes will always get minority status.
