If you are talented, if you work hard, if you believe in making your own destiny, then India doesn't need you.

no india wnat to be an inclusive economy than the current exclusive. everyone has a place here.
Merit is not ones individual property.Brainy could be in reserved category and a dunce in forward category.Caste cannot be a determinant for allotment of seats in prestigious institutions where merit alone should count. It is not that all forward class people are affluent and intelligent and vice versa. The basis for enshrining reservations in the constitution when we adopted it was the state of things prevalent at that time and should not hold good for eternity;much water has flown since then.Reservation for the downtrodden and oppressed is not bad till certain time, but not forever.Continuous extension of reservations by successive govts for their own political reasons-not out of love for such classes has, in fact, relegated/pushed the FC to backwardness and the reserved class to forwardness. The children of an IAS selected under reservation continue to get the benefit of reservation while those of a FC peon, unable to secure even a seat in good college-leave alone employment- moan in pain. The spirit of reservation to help the needy is being misquoted, misinterpreted and misused by the politicians for their own survival and continuance in power. We have allowed reservation for more than 60 years;it is time to make an introspection of the entire gamut and rethink about their continuance as a matter of routine and treat all equally.Constitution is meant to safeguard interests of all people irrespective of caste, creed or religion. "Survival of the fittest" should be the criterion.
why reservation at all? give the under priviliged the best possible education and food and clothes. But give them admissions into colleges only if they earn the seats. Not otherwise. Reservation is just a ploy to get votes. It is only going to create more and more problems. The first fatality at the altar of resevation will be progress and equality in India. Worse will follow.
Software exports from India is a huge huge foreign exchange earner. This shows the enromous talent and skill of Indian software provessionals and computer specialists. But it also shows something more important, in the present day reservation raj and quota kingdom we live in. That is, this scenario reveals how we are able to harness and showcase our talent in this field in the international field. This has happenned because (1) to get education about computers and computer skills, our youth do not have to join any government-run or government-aided institutes or colleges. It is almost like learning shorthand in a street-corner typing institute. So anyone who wants to learn those skills will not be told by the teaching institute, "Sorry, there is no admission for you because other less-meritorious people have come in thanks to the reservation law" or "Sorry, you may have scored 91% but not 91.25% which is the cut-off mark for admission for you. (2) There is no reservation in job opportunities for sucj skilled people, since almost all their employers are in the private sector- mostly they foreign-owned or foreign-partnered. And with all this, our govt. will just pocket all the huge foreign exchange it gets from these talented gems of India, and not say a word about the quota-free and reservation-free ambience which has really let those gems glitter. So I think other sectors too can prosper if you free them from quotas and reservations in a planned way.

I agree that there should be no quota anywhere but your analysis is wrong. We are not preferred because of skills but because we (used to) work cheap. Anyway, Chinese would soon take over our jobs as they are hard-working and don't have a quota system. The process is not in future. It has started. Bye bye Prosperous India.
Well, I thought the Govt of India is looking for taking our country towards developed status, but they are only busy in creating vote bank. So this crappy reservation policy to allow people of so called OBC will only make then more lazy to strive hard to achieve high quality in life. This not only dooms the goodwill of premier institutes like IITs and IIMs but also is a shame on our perception of equality. Why does the govt thunk and treat people of OBC like stupids, they are equally intelligent and are capable to do wonders. Reservations must have been restricted till school, in terms of waiver of fees and free books etc, but the people who get these benefits must study hard to find admission on premier institutes. Once they are in these institutes then again the govt can give then reservations in terms of fee concession etc, this would have been the correct step. But by giving a seat because of their birth status is the most stupid thing our stupid govt has taken......... Anyways, I feel that my decision to leave India for good if correct and I would return only when the equality prevails in all sense and also that if I work hard I must reap the benefits and promotions and not a person for a reserved category get the benefits because the is from such a category.
The degrees should list the category, e.g. B Tech (SC), MBBS (OBC) so that companies know whom they are hiring and people know the risks when they go to a doctor. Even better will be to create 5 new IITs with 100% reservation and the remaining ones open to all. This will make it 50% reservation as goverment wants (for securing their vote bank), OBCs will be happy to get the quota they wanted and open category students will not face unfair treatment. A win-win situation for all. And off course, the reserved IITs should have only reserved category professors.
there was an scene in ROCKY BALBOA mocking at the indians.....
ROCKY'S brother-in-law comes to ROCKY'S restauramt and sits around an corner.....the restaurant's receptionist not knowing that he was ROCKY'S brother in law asks him "HELLO SIR! DO YOU HAVE RESERVATION ON THIS TABLE?.....OF WHICH ROCKY'S BROTHER IN LAW REPLIES "DO AM I LOOKING LIKE AN FREAKING INDIAN?".....it shows that even foreigners mock at reservation policy of indians.....
govt. should stop corruption atleast in the matter of education sector, and improve middle and primary school education system and infrastructures in Govt. school.
Govt. should make unequal to equal in the society by improving the standards of our children of govt. schools (no comments abt private school children, bcoz they dont need this. economically they r good enough.)

How will a "lower caste" person make it to the Higher education with good score, if there is institutionalized caste discrimination at primary and secondary level? The hope of getting a berth in good higher education institution will enable the person to compete with better confidence against institutionalized odds. This is another way of looking at it.

You would know of the hardships lower caste folks face in rural areas, if you had been there, where upper caste students don't dine with lower caste students during mid-day meal, or how teacher discriminate them selectively.

But you can't sacrifice merit to deal with discrimination...discrimination and reservation are two completely different problems...they have to be dealt separately...please don't tell me you want to eliminate discrimination in a rural village by means of reservations in education?
The OBC qouta is here to stay!but as the OBC parties have been opposing Womens bill saying that Womens' bill should also have resrvation on the basis of Caste! The same way in OBC qouta every OBC Caste as per their population must get RESRVATIN with in the OBC Qouta ,other wise JATS ,GUJJARS And YADAVs will hog and get all the so called OBC qouta! And the really poor OBC;s will never be benefitted thus defeating the very purpose of the OBC Resrvation! So the NGO and indian Citizens Make Call upon all the poor and less proivelged to claim their qouta with in the qouta as per their [population.Jai Hind!

Maha Bodhi their are only 20% of graduate in India who are employable. This verdict will further make private sector baised. And you Jat and Yadav will be with a degree but no Job. Plus majority of Jat and Yadav will not qualify for this reservation because of their economic status.
