Today morning news told that on marriage of Abhishek, shehnai and other band were on for less than 15 min. compare that to what was case on marriage of raj and other thakreys and even other common man. also no honking and marriage are two different things. i wonder if only marathis are in Maharastra, it would be worse then saumalia.
RE:MNS will eat its own leg
by on Apr 10, 2008 11:58 AM Permalink
Agreed. but the question is wrong in the context. noise pollution by marriage is not daily, but to stand near a truck or a car blowing horn in your ears is different. that way one would ask for banning all political ralies and music concerts, ...ever heard the soud of contruction work goig next to your house.... point is to control where one can and to raise public awareness...once people are aware may be marriage noise pollution would stop...but some one needs to come out for bringing this awareness... Gandhi was not a born mahatama...its only when he got kicked and was aware of his conditions he went on to bcome mahatama.

Then what do you have to say about the noise created when marathi festivals are celebrated??? During Dasera and Diwali and the other festivals that are being celebrated? Also, do you mean to say that there is absolute silence at Maharasthrain weddings???

RE:RE:MNS will eat its own leg

you should try to start talking about yourself to start with. think of what you follow and what you dont. how many marathi drama and movies you see to support them and how many other language movies (includes hindi, english). its always easy to cry someone hyppocrate but think of what you are and then what people close to you are and wht you doing to call them...people like amitabh, raj are too far and too big
The above poster communicates that AB capnainined for No_Honking day in Mumbai, but in his son%u2019s marriage shahanai & other band were been played which caused so much to sound pollution.
My Question to Raj and MNS workers: You are so called promoter of Marathi language then why are you sending your children in English school? You expect a person who can%u2019t speak Marathi to speak it. Why you don%u2019t ask Marathi actors to confine themselves to Marathi movie? Or Why are you not asking Gavaskar or Tendulkar to speak in Marathi on Televison?
RE:Raj/MNS Nautanki
by san veer on Apr 10, 2008 11:35 AM Permalink
Sending children to English school is perfectly right. Marathi is not just language... it is culture and one gets it in this soil and blood. We dont want Hindi in Maharashtra. Only Marathi and English.

Gosh! yet another language related fight! We are all indians and it does not matter what language we speak it is just we speak decently :)
Learning a language should be a choice and not enforced on anybody .. we can always communicate in Inglsih [ Indian version of English ] and be happy!
The culture is same all over india! so there is no specific marathi , kannad , tamil telugu ...hindi culture ..there are minor variations !
PS:
Bihari culture is different and its india's pride ;) Ask arrogant Dhoni for more :p

12 crore maharashtrians (Approx. 50000 Jobs in railways in Maharahstra) and u r saying we are not fit for the job. The only answer for this is reservation irrespective of caste to Maharashtrains in govt. jobs (100 %) and 95% in pvt. sector.
12 crore ppl -- > population greater than population of 97% nations.

Lets try something else instead of reservations.. Its called merit. Why dont the marathi manoos attempt to get jobs on merit?? If they are good for the job then I am sure they will get selected. Reservgations are only for people who are not fit for the job, but want to do it..

Merit .. LOL... if they would have selected ppl in railway jobs on merit, you would have found 90% south Indian in Railway jobs instaead of 90% north Indians. You know the politics in railway jobs

Sid Justice -- > u r completely missing my point. The point is the railway jobs are given by northy baztard politicians to their relatives.... so even if proxy exam is taken by me/ you/ any south indian, they are not going to get selected.
I thank Raj's MNS for exposing double standards and hypocrisy of Amitabh who shamelessly gives lecture on following laws and at the same time breaks it by organising a HUGE barat for his son's wedding in Juhu which is a silent zone and causes traffic jams and noise pollution ...

The Big B may be a great actor, accepted. But he is far from an ideal role model. He has used his political contacts well for personal gain. During Indra Gandhi and Rajiv's rule, his brother and he were involved in many questionable deals including Bofors and of course his pharma company IPCA. Once the Bachchan lost his clout after Rajiv's death, he was nearly broke and about to even lose a roof over his head!. He then latched on to Amar Singh and Mulayam. What did he get in return? His wife is now a Samajwadi MP and of course along with the Deal Maker Amar Singh, he has made crores with Mulayam's blessings. He also smartly uses the media or his convenience specially when the Income Tax and DRI authorities want to question him! No need to beat our chests for this man!
Its not Congress, its not BJP , its not NCP...and you know who it is ? because the reality is that majority slum dwellers are NOT biharis and UP wallahs.

If we are not getting justice in our own country, why would I consider it as my country. I am getting this feeling by looking at ppl opposing the resertvations in Jobs for Marathi's in Maharashtra (Irrespective of any caste politics)
we should not encourage such divisive politics. Such type of regional politics will only destroy india. states should cooperate with each other for a better india.
if maharashtra doesnot allow the workers from UP and UP does not allow the clothes from maharashtra then it will harm the whole economic stability of our country.
Have humanity, have love for all indians. First bal thakrey agitated against south indians 30 yrs back now raj thakeray is doing it against north indians.
i understand the anguish of mumbai people when they say that biharis are bringing destroying the culture. I am resident of gurgaon and i also see people around me saying this. but what i tel them is that if these people will not come then who will do the small/dirty/filthy work. if these people will not come to gurgaon, there would be shortage of manpower and you would be required to pay all you salary in small household work that these cheap workers do it for free.
i just want to reiterate that dont be so selfish and for the benefit of our country be ready to sacrifice some of your comfort.

Speculation has it that builders are shoring up property values by calculated leaks of a few freak, big-ticket deals. Last November, Citibank sold a flat in NCPA Apartments on the Marine Drive waterfront for Rs 34 crore, that is at a rate of over Rs 97,000 a sq ft. The deal created a buzz in the property market and helped jack up prices further in south Mumbai. Many of these purchases involve those in the realty business themselves.
Sameer Gehlaut, executive director of Indiabulls, is believed to have pulled off a purchase of an apartment in developer Suresh Raheja%u2019s famed Chattan Bungalow project on Malabar Hill for a price close to Rs1 lakh a sq. ft.
Two years earlier, another Indiabulls director, Gagan Banga, bought a flat in Cuffe Parade%u2019s Maker Towers B from Citibank for Rs7.2 crore, a rate of Rs 37,500 a sq. ft.
Money from abroad, increased disposable incomes, huge upgrades in salaries over the past few years, a bullish stock market (until recently) and a continuous flow of migrants have contributed to the upward trend in commercial and residential real estate prices, says a real-estate investment analyst.
But the trend may be changing, says Mahesh, a broker from Sion. %u201CI know of someone who till some months ago refused to sell his flat for less than Rs65 lakh. Recently, he sold out for Rs55 lakh.%u201D
