I have no great love for Raj Thackeray but Amitabh Bachchan is no saint either! The Big B may be a great actor, accepted. But he is far from an ideal role model. He has used his political contacts well for personal gain. During Indra Gandhi and Rajiv's rule, his brother and he were involved in many questionable deals including Bofors and of course his pharma company IPCA. Once the Bachchan lost his clout after Rajiv's death, he was nearly broke and about to even lose a roof over his head!. He then latched on to Amar Singh and Mulayam. What did he get in return? His wife is now a Samajwadi MP and of course along with the Deal Maker Amar Singh, he has made crores and grabbed vast tracts of land with Mulayam's blessings. He also smartly uses the media or his convenience specially when the Income Tax and DRI authorities want to question him! No need to beat our chests for this man!

We are living in compitative world, person who performs will grow.

If MNS ideology followed then we will go in our dark ages. Comitition will give us leader for future in area they belong and that is right path for future growth.

the problem is that PPL FROM OTHER REGIONS do think SIMILARLY.... for eg the cm of karnataka said and i quote-------" if the it cos dont provide employment opportunities to the locals then v dont need them ".. this problem is everywhere in assam , northeast states, tibet ,usa and even in delhi... i think the locals should be given priorities everywhere be it bihar or maharashtra...the logic is simple---
when an industry is established----land is taken from the locals, the state govts provide incentives (which is from the taxpayers pocket and not from migrant workers), if there is a pollution problem the locals hav 2 bear the brunt, then isnt it logical to give "PREFERENCE" TO LOCALS ( I M NOT USING THE TERM RESERVATION)....

All organization prefer local people for better perfromance and access to local facilities; However nich skilled labour will be required for new industries. Local should not take normal education instead they should should take specialization.

Recent example: This example from Baramati, Pune. Few group of farmers started thier own winery and they got support from government for same.

Above example gives message that locals should come together and do some good things. Indian Government has good policies to support agro based production houses.

That's the whole point.... if u want to start industry.... u can come and start. Why the hell do u need workforce from outside state?? You have 12 crore ppl to choose your workforce from. 245 Engineering colleges, Pune--> the education capital of state, Mumbai --> finance hub .... what else these industrialists need ? Why they need ppl from outside? If they want ppl from outsidfe, start the company there.

Dont be so narrow minded, they want good ppl to prosper their company and economy. If they dont find the workforce suitable to their work, they will extend their hands to other state. Whats wrong in that? You dont have any IIM, a few JB, SP Jain, Pumba, Welingker students can not cater their requirement.

Regional representation
by Rajesh S on Apr 10, 2008 12:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whichever the state, Ktaka, TN or Maharashtra it is wrongly assumed that parties with a regional agenda harm national integration. I think regional parties are a must as a voice of the people of the region.

However they can also pose a threat to the unity of the country as shown by MNS where violence is resorted to. The MNS/Shiv Sena/KRV are rogue parties that filled in the space available for regional voice.

I feel that regional parties do play a role in promoting and representing the people but if it is done wrongly as in these cases it dents the image of the state and its people for no fault of theirs. It is a double edged sword this.
