Soem people have not recovered from the Cold War Era. There is just too much hapla and hoopla on Tibet. We wish Tibet gets free someday as that may ensure our security as well as for Tibetians themselves but for the time being lets concentrate on our own problems.

Tibet was always a sovereign nation until Mao's murdering Red Army invaded, with the wholehearted blessing of that idiot Nehru and his Commie minion Menon. If, as this article surmises, that Uncle Sam is actually helping the Tibetan people to counter the scourge of the butchering Red Army, then that's something to be welcomed, not demeaned, unless one is a card-carrying member of the CPI. India was entrusted with the security of Tibet by the departing Brits, but the cowardly, naieve idiot Nehru, sold these poor folks down the drain, just to suck up to his 'pal' Chou-en-Lai, who then proceeded to invade India just three years later, in '62 - says a lot about 'Congress Policy' and national security.

did you ever go to china to see what people actually ate? Only 1/2 provinces mainly canton province eat everything. Rest of chinese eat normal meat. 80% indians are non-vegatarians was a study published in a reputed indian newspaper. I have lived in orissa, and people there eat snakes and frogs.
They divert the attention and in the end use Indians like how they want. USA will dump indians once their use for them is over or India starts becoming a better economy. Now china is a threat so they support India. Remember old times when they supported pakistan and supplied all their arms. When will Indians learn. Just make your own country prosperous. Care about your own people dying on streets, farmers doing suicide.

Well in a country fighting over lingayats and panchayats and religion and caste nationalism is always second.No one in India cares about India more than their family or community. Ask any American he is proud being an american. An Indian is pround being a Christian/Muslim/Vaishnavite or because they are kannadiga, marathi or north india. We haven't got a national identity. The unfortunate part of this is when we say we need a national identity we rush to the conlusion we need a single religion or a single language or a single culture.The national identiy we can have is that of a liberal multicultural secular nation.Unless that definition is accepted as the definition of a unifying national identity, this nation will never prosper. What will result is in a hundred "tibet"s in india.Both the right with and leftwing politics in India are modelled after western ideas and neither are native.
