It would have been important for us to know how many candidates are 1. Graduates and post graduate. 2. Income tax payees or not. 3. Size of family. 4. Firm commitment to uphold Secularism. 5. Firm commitment to fight against corruption.
The Media should stop writing such non sense news Items. It is BJP's responsibility to weigh against risk. Congress always looked Muslims as Vote Bank, and if the % is more they field Muslim candidate , with a firm feeling that muslims give priority to religion and not bothered about other important national issues. But it is a false feeling of Congress....!!!
The whole civilized world is Hindu. Secularism & democracy are the foundations of Hinduism. Caste saved India from dark days by providing some basic purpose in life. Religion is One and is about Human Skills & Values thus developing our Body and Mind, Emotions and Intellect, Creativity and Consciousness. The caste is a scientific concept distorted by confused people. It means that to live life intelligently we need to effectively balance the 4-forces within - Thinker, Protector, Economist, Worker - and also while governing society. This is all based on natural human intelligence. The roots of the ancient Indian philosophy are secular, logical and universal. The idols are objectives in life: Shiva (freedom), Durga (Strength), Saraswati (Knowledge), Lakshmi (Wealth), Ganesh (Wisdom). Life is God. These Goddesses symbolize the goals of human life. All secular societies practice this. This is same as the US Constitution, the teachings of Confucius, Buddha, Lao-Tzu and those of European thinkers like Voltaire, Shaw. Every developed country in the world is "truly secular" and have one law, uniform code & gender equality, keeping focus on performance & productivity & excel in life, work & sports.

God is nowhere. Life is now and here. Enjoy life & Excel in your work through education, action, knowledge, skills and employment and strive for inner fulfillment. Stop this gas. All developed countries do this and prosper.
Ancient spiritual belief further had it that a person who suffered misfortune or overly suffered from the human instinctual passions of fear and aggression was "possessed" by bad or evil spirits. Relief was sought by offering sacrifice or avowing servitude to the mythical good spirits or Gods in return for favours, forgiveness, redemption and salvation, if not now then in an imaginary life-after-death.
Each tribe has, over millennia, formalized its own particular religion based on these ancient words, traditions, fears, superstitions and eccentric fairy tales.
Shamans, priests and God-men soon laid claim to be the earthly representatives of these mythical "other- worldly spirits and Gods and, as such, their words and deeds were taken to be sacred and inviolate.
Thus the shamans, priests and God-men came to wield enormous power and influence, for to dare to question them was to provoke the evil spirits, incur the wrath of the Gods and ultimately deny oneself the chance of salvation in an imagined future life-after-death.
