Congress seems to have given up in Karnataka (and on Karnataka). How else could one explain the fact that Karnataka is now hardly represented in the Central Cabinet? The recent Cabinet expansion did not see any person from Karnataka being given a Cabinet berth. The Karnataka Congress seems to be oblivious of this.
Neither was any fair deal given to Karnataka in the Railway Budget. Here too the Congress MPs from Karnataka seem to have had little influence. The remarks of the Railway minister was also not opposed by the Congress and its MPs.
When BJP was in Centre, DMK an ally and JD(S) govt. in Karnataka they signed the agreement for Drinking Water Project for Bangalore and Drinking Water Project in Hogenakkal. This is the mistake of Tamil Nadu govt to delay this. If Yediyurappa is against it then he should have fight 10 years ago and not now. Till now the people of Karnataka are treating the Tamilians as brothers, only some group of people who wants their name in the paper are creating the problems. If the people avoid these people in the next election then it will be a chance for them to learn a lesson. But the public also forgets about the past and this is an advantage for those who are creating problems. Anybody from the constituency of Vattal Nagaraj can ask him "What he knows about the problem? Whether he knows about the agreement signed by then Karnataka Govt. and TamilNadu Govt.? Why he didn't oppose that time?" I am sure he cannot answer.

The Hogenakkal drinking water supply scheme is being implemented by Tamil Nadu on the basis of a No Objection certificate by the Centre. The NOC was issued by the Centre on September 21, 1998 after convening a meeting of both the States on June 29, 1998. At the meeting, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka had agreed not to object to drinking water supply schemes as long as the State concerned utilised water from its allocated share.
The then Karnataka Chief Minister J.H. Patel of JD(S) - former ally of BJP had been the signatory to the NoC.
This is the reason why in this whole tamasha the JD(S) is quiet.
The BJP, Tamil Nadu unit and its ally, AIDMK (both entered into an alliance agreement for the coming polls in Karnataka) spearheaded the opposition pressure on Karunanidhi to react. The BJP, Karnataka meanwhile is trying to milk the issue to gain votes. Rascals
