Yes true. It is really shame for mankind to sit idle and watch the atrocities meted out to people who are just fighting basic right of freedom. We still call this world a civilized one. Yes it is a shame.

No..no.. it should not stop
by vivek on Apr 08, 2008 02:20 PM  Permalink

If it's stopped after this year Olympics, that gives a wrong message to the peace loving people, that whole world bows its head to protectors.. No..no.. it should continue.

If we bow down, then that give a thumping win for peace-breakers (I'm not talking abt current issue here). Next time onwards these terrorists (once again.. I'm not talking on Tibet issue) can do anything. There is no country which is liked by everyone. It gives thema chance to venture their enemity.

Why double standard on Iraq & China
by RAMESH IYER on Apr 08, 2008 02:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, UN & America interfered and now Saddam Hussain is dead. In India also, many people condemened the hanging of Saddam Hussain , but at the same time , they might have forgotten Saddam Hussain killed some many persons by using chemical weapons. The same rule is applicable for Chinese Leaders in Tibetian issue . China swallowed Hangkong and creating problems in Taiwan and also in the Indian state of Auranchal Pradesh. Further to this, China is also having border problem in sea with Japan. They are having very good relation with Pakistan in the policy of enemy's enemy is friend. Sports can't be merged with politics. Let the olympics can take place peacefully. But at the same time, China should be warned by UN & other countries. All the countries should be banned from importing chinese materials. World Countries should put pressure on China to leave Tibetian Territory .

China swallowed Hongkong? Where did you learn ur history? Hongkong was a British colony. If my memory serves, India also was a British colony. Are you saying that India should remain what it was before her independence? are you saying that Sikm, for example, should not be a part of India? The rest of your comments shows how muddled a head you possess.

Stop olympics./or include terrorism as one sports item in olympics
by cnrgpal on Apr 08, 2008 02:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The besty thing is to stop olympics. This is just a drama and become the platform to show the might of various countries. There is no Brotherhood between these countries. So my suggestion is to stop olympics in future. May this be the last olympics.
If there is olympics in future, there should be an item as Terrorism. Whcihever country can do the best terrorism, they will be world/olympic champions.

Interesting thought. Perhaps we should just get on with the real business of making money, lots of money, and forget about everything else. Heck, the Chinese are more capitalist than anyone else. Do business and making money is in the genes of the Chinese. The Chinese will come out shining in a materilistic world.

If terrorism is included as one sports item in olympics, Pakistan will be winner.

If terrorism is included as one sports item in IPL twenty 20, Thakerays team will be the winners.

Since almost all the countries are keeping rivalry to each others, not only olympics, but all the other activities, pretending cordiality should be stopped.

The basic bemuse of olympics is that it is a world event. If it is therented by the world public, then what is the meaning of keeping olympics?? For whose benefit? Advertisers?? Construction mafia who build infrastructure keeping the event in mind??
