Right initiative
by Manali Thomas on Apr 07, 2008 09:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Like all good things initiated by visionaries of umbai, let us hope this initiative will also be taken seriously and acted upon. Since the Mumbai cops are responsible to see this going through properly, we cannot expect much from them, as they are the corrupted one, especially the traffic cops.

The irritation of hearing the rverse gear music, is worse than anything else. Even the driver knows that the front vehicle cannot be moved unless the signal turns green, the habit of sounding horn, has rarely left them. This can be controlled if the owner who sits behind him also instruct them not to do so. But the owner should also be a standard one.

If you had to patrol Mumbai streets and keep it much safer than comparable cities in the world even with UPites and Biharis present - how would you like it?

Mumbai/Maharashtra cops are fine - the best in the nation. Better than your Rest of India and your UP/Bihar any day.

Jai Maharashtra.

great Move!!

this is a great move. but for people to stop honking, traffic cops should also make sure that people follow lane rules and make sure pedestrians follow rules as well .

Don't worry - Biharis and UPites will occupy the footpaths forcing the pedestrians onto the roads.

All you Maharashtra haters and Marathi haters will then be cheering for them and the likes of Laloo et al.

honking by drivers
by mohan nadkarny on Apr 07, 2008 09:18 AM  Permalink

honking must be avoided by proper training of drivers at learning stage itself. i have seen driving instructors telling students to press horn instead of applying brakes. i wish that no honking drive should be atleast one week rather than a day.
