well with all the ongoing events in Tibet, one can on;y come up with the questions; Is Human Rights really a concern or just a Farce in todays world???? well the answer for this is based on one's own consciousness... The way they view Human Rights.. A right to be humanlytreated or just the opposite of this... If what is going on in Tibet is not a violation of Human Right then WHAT IS???????????
1) China on our doorstep fearlessly claiming India's NE land 2) China having direct boundry with Pakistan supplying them all support for fight against India 3) China controlling almost all rivers flowing into India from Tibet controlling agriculture, industries, power generation, floods in India's eastern states. 4) China supplying arms/money to Left and Naxals for anti-India activities giving India a permanent headach for who knows how many more years. 5) Chinese betrayed India, made mockery of India's peace initiatives/support in 60s, attacked India and stole India's land. 6) most of the chinese call Indians beggers and the national chinese media/newspapers potray India as a naked begger in various daily political cartoons. Majority of chinese take India for granted and don't appreciate the slavish behaviour of Indian leaders. 7) China has always opposed Indian seat in UN security council. 8) China opposed N-Deal, it played Left parties to stall it. 9) China kicked out Indian oil companies from Africa. 10) China pressurised mideast 'friends' not to help India during Kandahar crisis.

Believe me, we do not have any hatred for Chinese citizens, but we just do not trust and like your leadership. We know that the chinese leadership is not chosen by people, so it is more scary. Since you are chinese, may be you do not have much information what goes on in India or may be you have been fed with selective news. But it is fact that your leadership behaves in high-handed manner with India even though there is no provocation. Since Dalai Lama stays with us, we know he is a peaceful man. It is due to his leadership that you do not see much violence by Tibetans, he always keep asking his fellow Tibetans to observe path of peace. But your leadership leaves no stone unturned to defame this saint. It is small group of Tibetan youth settled in USA which is very aggressive. But your government will not handle the US in same way they do India, why, because US will just stop importing Chinese goods and your economy will collapse. They have already shown you some sample when they stopped import of Dogfood and Toys from China stating toxic substances as reason. For clarification, I am not a buddhist or follower of DalaiLama.

I agree with Mr Arjun. China lost its face by it's earlier deeds, and will never regain it anytime soon.
Best part is that we hardly need to see their faces, if we have Tibet in between.
Tibet's independence can bring lot of security and peace in south-east asia.
They were providing the support to north-east insurgent and now to the naxals, as the China's wish to gain the access to Indian Ocean trough bay of Bangal.
Most of the Chinese people know how the government treat them.i mean, most of us know we have no large-space freedom as you have and we know our government are hiding things from us, but we support them. Why? because it is them that leading China to a stronger power in the world. And we all understand if we are economically strong, there will be no countries especially western countries invading us any more. If you are weak in this modern world, you will be ignored and beat by others, DEFINITELY.
we give our government maximum understand and bear because we were under western power's invasion for hundreds of years. We know the insult and we will never forget about it. it is rooted in every Chinese person's heart.
India is also a civilised developing country. Hell yeah, it is also developing, we also cannot blame it for its current poor, its corrupt, its low-efficiency or other bad things because I know it is your own motherland.
Sometimes when i read Indian Daily or some websites, i really feel some Indian people didnot view from their own feeling but just speak out irresponsibly which hurt Chinese people, respecting Inida and treat India from total understanding of its unperfection, like me.
India is a distressful country as China. I hope Indian people also remember its humiliation history and think indepently. That is what a powerful country should act.

I thought so you are Chinese when I read your reply on the Arjun's post. Every country has right to be economically strong but not at the expense of the humanity. You seem to have wrong information on Indians, we are peace loving people and do not poke our nose in other country's matter like Americans. Our most of the problems are created by our neighbors. Like Mr. Arjun has said, your Government tries to poke us on so many issues. Please understand that we Indians are sensitive about the Border issue. We can not forget how China backstabbed us in 1962. At present we suffer from communist terrorism sponsered by Chinese Government. Chinese army regularly cross the line of Actual control, so it is Chinese who are instigating us. You should not expect love when you hate somebody.

Please dont defend lack of rights as necessary to fight the west. The west didnt become powerful by having dictators killing millions. India has a long way to go. But yes we can vote out our politicians. We can expose the corruption and we can do all that to make us a stronger country. What has china agained after the humiliation from the west.. more humiliation from the commies...

Hey Lee, Find out in the Chinese rule books. It might be illegal for Chinese to access rediff as this site might be one of those western media outlets that do incorrect reporting on China. You have been fed from your childhood the CCP propaganda and in practise your nation is an expansionist nation. How else can one describe the expanding Chinese military. Thanks largely to our incompetent leaders in Delhi, you guys must be having a field-day...enjoy it, because bad days are just round the corner and your leaders' evil designs are likey to be exposed.

I am browsing Rediff.com in China now and I dont think India can give anyone more freedom to go to the politics than i am in China, especially for the poor ones. Also, when I judge our government from two sides and from a entire view, you can also leave alone your bias.

Dear Lee, you remember the humiliation suffered at the hands of westerners. Why are you now humiliating the residents of Tibet in the same way that the westerners humiliated you?
Most Indians don't have any ill feeling towards the British. Probably, deep down we understand what Gandhiji meant when he said, 'An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind'.
China is the most uncivilized country in the world. They are unfit to host Olympics, which requires respect for freedom, liberty, tolerance and soverignty. The Chinese Government is a brutal, fascist regime a la the medieval totalitarian kingdoms. They want to annihilate the dissenting Tibetans in toto. They massacred their own tribe: the Tiananmen Square protesters by placing them under their tanks. They forcefully integrated Hong Kong with China despite protests from the natives. They want to nuke their own Chinese masses at Taiwan because of differences in political ideologies. In the name of "Cultural" Revolution, 10 million Chinese were killed and several million uprooted from their villages and towns. What a country! Shame! Shame! This country is a Member of the UN Security Council with veto power. Sic!

India's caste system is history. But look at how the few rich in China are bulldozing the poor. That is not happening in India. Good though that you study that in your textbooks in China...!
Free Tibet is next to impossible. Whole west will not risk loosing billions of dollars in economic sanctions against China. Its just pure economics at play....forget human rights, olympics,....west is just concerned about business and not about Tibet!
CAN A SNAKE BE CHANGED TO CIVILIZED HUMAN? IT IS CONTROLLED BY UPROOTING ITS VENOMOUS TEETH ! SAME RULE APPLIES TO CHINA AND HER COMMUNISTIC FRIENDS IN INDIA!
It is a pity to see from the discussion board such deep distrust and hatred between the two ancient civilizations of Asia. The Chinese do not help matters by humiliating India with the summoning of the Indian Ambassador episode. Unfortunately, we have a crappy government that cannot protect the dignity of its own staff let alone the people. The Europeans are clever, they themselved united and welded themseleves into a formidable force, but fans the flames of Asian divisions.
