by Sunil Bhandari on Apr 08, 2008 06:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

what has Raj done for marathais?Farmers have committed suicide in vidarbha.Has he ever gone there or shed a tear for them.He has instigated his goons to burn and destroy public property creating financial and physical problems for marathis. He himself lives in a palatial house and drives expensive cars while the poor marathis have a hard time to meet both ends meet. give me one example of raj having done something to help the marathis

Raj has no standing of his own. He is still known as nephew of Bal Thakeray, leave alone doing something for the people of Maharastra.

Bachan versus Rajani
by K.A.Kuttaiah on Apr 08, 2008 05:52 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Big B is a wise person. He can not be judged by one act or a single accusation but must be looked at over a period of time. All his actions have been mature and balanced. He thinks India and not of any region and affection and admiration for him is across the cross section of the country. As for Rajani he is a regional Super Star and a regional phenomenon. His popularity and wealth has to come only from within Tamil Nadu. He has abused Kannadigas and now wants to get away from this.
The remarks made by him were uncalled for and unfortunate.

Shame to Shiv-sena
by SSP on Apr 08, 2008 05:46 AM  Permalink

I used to respect Shiv-sena for protesting on cause. But now they are doing it for their political benefit. Shame on you!
Why the Shiv-sainiks are behaving like illetrate person?
If they are forcing non-marathi to go out of the state, they should remember non-marathi people have more contribution in building Mumbai, whether it is arts, films, industry or something else.
And important - Is not Maharasta in India? and as per the rule we have the rights to stay whereever we want.
Taking on AB - What he can do more for Maharastra? he is living there it's your honour. Shiv-sena bulls learn how to care a legend.

Desclaimer : I am neither a maharashtrian by birth nor I do live in Maharashtra.

Big B has done a good thing that he started to speak in the language of the place where he lives. We should always give respect to the local culture and language. All my North Indian (even Maharashtrians) friends should understand this and start to learn the local language of the place where they live (Bangalore, Chennai or Hyderabad)

It was quite easy for Rajni to speak against Karnataka
by Kumar on Apr 08, 2008 04:39 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was quite easy for Rajni to speak against Karnataka since he is NOT a Kannnadiga but a Marathi speaker. On the other hand, the Bacchan family is an icon in UP with Amitabh winning Lok Sabha elections from the state, his father a noted Hindi literary figure and his grandfather working for the Indian freedom movement. Anyway, I disgree that AB's karma bhoomi is Maharashtra since his films are viewed and ticket prices paid by the entire world including Maharashtra and UP. I think India is on the path towards balkanization beacuse of Nehru's strategic blunder to form language based state.

I distinctly remeber Rajni say that people in Karnataka call him Maharastrian and the people of Tamil Nadu embraced him. But the bottom line is Rajni is a good human being (unlike AB) hence it is easier for people to like him and easier for Rajni to stand up for justice. Tomorrow don't be surprised if Rajni speaks against Tamil Nadu if TN is on the wrong side of justice.

Nehru during his tenure has done many blunders.
He didnt properly handle the China crisis.Even leaders like Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel warned him against China. Also during the Indo-China war the Indian army were not given good support from the government.
When Pakistan captured Kashmir, Indian army were able to get back almost 75% of Kashmir. Then Nehru did the blunder of placing the problem before UN and then the ceasfire was ordered. Otherwise we would have had the whole of Kashmir now.
He was the 1st prime minister of India and a freedom fighter. But not a good ruler. Bcoz of his blunders, Indians are suffering a lot.

Face the reality
by Azhar on Apr 08, 2008 04:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Going by the logic of shiv sena and its stooges, they should have supported the British when Indian docs were shown the door in UK. Why because they wanted jobs for sons of he soil. Going by their logic most of the Indians all over the world should be sent back so that the jobs of locals are protected. This is a global world. Survival of the fittest theory holds good here nothing else.

Its high time that these people stop their crap theory of sons of the soil. This is India. Why will Amitabh do anything for any body? You show me one actor/director who takes stands and does something for the masses by taking on the present system. No body wants their movies to be stopped. Everyone is here for money. If you are looking at Amitabh or any body else in the bollywood to lead the way, then I%u2019m afraid, you wont get anything. Money talks my friend and nobody speaks anything when his money is at stake.

The real man who does anything is the common man himself who fights every day with the traffic wala, auto wala, in the govt offices etc and he fights because his money, his self esteem is at stake NOT because he wants a better India. Not that he is unpatriotic. It is just that for anybody ME comes first then comes everything. The better India feeling that he has is secondary. Call me names or whatever you can do, this is the bitter truth. Face it.

Bachchan speaks in Marathi to calm tempers
by Jayraj Paleja on Apr 08, 2008 03:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No doubt that Marathi language & literature has enough to offer but anyone who surrenders the culture of force & violence is simply selfish. Amitabh Bachchan has created problems for a common non Marathi speaking person living in Mumbai by his diplomatic gesture. JAI HIND.

SHAME TO YOU POLITICIANS
by ajay bhathire on Apr 08, 2008 12:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a shame for our country that such selfish people are ruling. I don't know whether Bachhan is wrong or right, but killing innocent Biharis and UP people in Mumbai for this is definitely wrong. First comes our country and people. If these politicians are trying to ruin our unity means that they r not eligible to rule and they should be stopped from doing such bad things.
One more issue which is similar to above is the long time Kaveri issue b/w Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It started about 30 or 40 years ago. And still our 'dear' politicians have not found a solution means there is something fishy. It clearly indicates that they dont want the issue to be solved. They want it to use for political gains.
One more thing about Rajnikanth. His said that the people who r responsible for creating disturbances should be kicked, i.e the "Kannada Rakshana Vedike" group who r doing all sorts of bad things in Karnataka. He is absolutely correct. They r criminals and they should be stopped.
I am from Karnataka and I am these people. If we keep on fighting about religions, language then one day will come when India will once again be partitioned.
British ruled our country by using divide and rule policy. It was worst type of ruling. British were outsiders. It is sad to see that now our fellow country men are using the same policy for their political gains.
