ok agreed ektas serials are full of *hit but the reasons given are due to their fundamentals read the article becausr muslim clerics feel so
If there was anybody I would hate today that would be Ekta Kapoor, not her as person but the concept and the story she directs..it's nothing but big rubbish...please ban all these serial which doesn't make any sense

Nobody is talking about losing culture. These shows are the biggest snooze fests in the world. Actors cry every two minutes, with an annoying melodramatic background score in the background and the story and characters defy all logic. Please ban these shows so I can watch something else interesting as people in my home dont allow me to change the freaking channel when these shows are on.
No tears need be shed for Indian TV serials; they are productions whose only distinction invariably has been their success in encashing the common Asian's thirst for gossip, stereotypical images, generalisations, soft porn in the guise of 'family dramas'....all kinds of kitsch.
The Afghan govt. should have named the above reasons (in it's attempt to elevate the Afghan commoner from the depths in which his Indian and other Asian counterparts have always remained) for banning the channels and not the usual brouhaha about their 'UnIslamic' nature.

There was no question of having the Prophet on photograph or painting because Islam arose in the land inhabited by unruly , uncultured and uncivilised Bedouin bandits. The religion that the Prophet had preached for his personal and political convenience, attributing everything to Allah was a shade improvement on the savage culture of Arabia but it has never been reformed or positively interpreted . Hence Islam remains a harmful and anachronistic idea in the modern internet-driven world of super-technology and space science and it is still rooted in pernicious medievalism on which it thrives . Islam as an ideology will die a natural death like Marxism which also is a totalitarian ideology that seeks to control all aspects of human life . All totalitarian ideologies, Islam, Marxism, Christianity, are against the very essence of human nature which is creative , fond of diversity and liberty .

Our friend Mr Anuj wants us to follow Afghanistan not for un-islamic banning. But the non-sense serials that are shown. No story, only gossip, adultry, insult etc....corruption, deception and nothing is shown in these serials.
In fact govt should not allow this shit to go out of India. It shows our culture in a very bad sense. Let it remain upto Indian shores. Thats itself is the limit of tolerance....

don't you have a remote control? if you do not like one program why don't you switch channels instead of advocating your preference? Every one has the right to watch the channel he likes. This is a secular democratic nation and not any 16th century country OK?

Poor Karzai is unable to handle pressure. Anyway, social reform is a slow process. Let Afgans take their own time. Serials anyway could have been good substitutes for schools.
