illegal claim
by saigeetha jagannathan on Apr 04, 2008 04:10 PM  Permalink

Hogenakkal is not a dispute area in official records. The largest bank is inside Tamilnadu and has been developed by Tamilnadu Tourism for decades together and this place can be reached by entering tamilnadu only. Tourists from Bangalore have to travel to Dharmapuri, Pennagaram and then arrive at Hogenakkal. They travel nearly 150 km inland TN to reach Hogenakkal. The smaller bank at karnataka's side is totally inaccesible by roads and is not maintained by KN's Tourism. Only illicit liquor is sold there. Suddenly a place cannot be claimed without records. During Veerappan's time, those who are claiming now never even dreamt of that. Now they are forging into the TN's side ib boats and abuse TN boatsmen. I have seen this by myself.

Sorry state of affairs

Cauvery river flows in three districts of karnataka (Coorg, Mysore and Mandya) whereas it flows in 9 districts of Tamilnadu namely Dharmapuri,Salem,Erode,Karur,Trichy,Tanjore,Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam,Kumbakonam and merges in Bay of Bengal at Kaveripoompattinam(Pondicherry). The land cultivated with Cauvery in TN than that of Karnataka geographically. Cauvery is not a major river when compared to Krishna in Karnataka(but it is projected in contrary to the fact). Coorg is hilly and has less agricultural land whereas the two districts namely Mysore and Mandya rely on Cauvery for agriculture. But in Tamilnadu, cauvery flows in highly cultivated 8 districts (these lands are irriagted for thousands and thousands of years). In fact, Karikala cholan built Kallanai(stone dam) 1700 years ago across Cauvery(this is the oldest usable dam in the world today).
Karnataka is a huge state(bigger than TN) and it just not consists only these 3 districts. Most of the western, Central and North Karnataka people never involve themselves in this dispute(they constitute nearly 80% of the total population). The central and north Karnataka are underdeveloped and only the south Karnataka comprising in and around Bangalore and Mysore are developed due to IT. The central Karnataka though a highly water fed region(thanks to the sprawling western ghats and its rain forests) has not seen development in terms of educational institutions, food management and other social issues.

contd,
Most of the north central and north east karnataka are dry and it witnessed the highest number of farmer suicides in KN this crop year.

This sorry state of affairs exists because KN politics is dominated by people belonging to southern districts. Thatswhy, time and again they make this cauvery issue a major political drama. This is not the same with Krishna river eventhough a water sharing dispute exists between Karnataka and Andhra over Krishna river.

But in TN, Cauvery if the lifeline and thatswhy if the water is deficient, crores of people are affected. Even then, TN never witnessed farmer suicides as in Maharastra and KN beacuse some of the populist movements by TN govt. TN is highly industrialised and the development is equally spread. During Crisis, they move to places like Tiruppur, Sivakasi, Madurai etc for their livelihood. Only people from dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts move to Bangalore as it is closer.

Yes thousand became thousands and later millions of acres had come under cultivation. This greed and self fulfilment had awoken the neighbouring states.Water is siphoned off as soon as it hits the earth. You want to convert your arid lands to greenfields and change the natural geographical features of the western ghats.Just like the administrative babus of the Madras Presidency who did great damage to the dilineation of the states in favour of TN.You dont bleed others to expand and extend you lifeline.Your research blinkered eyes are now trying to split KN to exploit the situation. So why not just say goodbye to all pre independence treaties and reinstate what God had pre-distined as the natural features of the respective regions. You can help by controlling the population explosion.

Mr.Vivek,
TN is not increasing the cultivable lands but just trying to protect the already cultivated. Its Karnataka that is trying to increase it manifold. How can people in lower riparian region block water or irrigation in higher riparian region?. Its only the people of higher riparian region has the advantage to deny water to lower riparian regions. I am not trying to split you but only quetion your extensive 'attachment' towards Cauvery than Krishna.

Remember the land in TN's cauvery basin are being cultivated for more than 2 millennia. Grand Anicut built during 2 AD stands as a testimony to this. So its not TN that is trying to increase the cultivated land but its KN that is increasing by building an artificial channel of 72 miles to divert water to more areas in addition to 100 miles long river within KN.

Remember, the lands in TN's cauvery basin are being cultivated for nearly 2 millennia. Thats why I gave the example of Grand Anicut which was built to facilitate irrigation across cauvery in 2 A.D. This dam is still being in use.

Think first yourself before posting the message...!

The core of the project is to supply a drinking water to near by area not for cultivation. Guys think first about yourself and the people, who r going to benefit by the project. we r sitting in the A/C cooled room with provided mineral water nearby or from any western country with hygienic surrounding , surfing Internet and posting useless messages in this Discussion Board. But please think about the people who r going to benefit by this drinking water project- they r all underprivileged people born in India (forget about tamil or Kannada)!! For one glass of drinking water they have to spend so many hours to get it.They have to walk/struggle in southindian hot summer temperature to their basic need for a glass of water. So think about them first in comparison with us and then post ur message.

by Revolutionary on Apr 04, 2008 01:34 PM  Permalink

PM Manmohan singh probaly by the directives of Sonia Gandhi gave a clean slap to SM Krishna who rushed to PMO to stall Tamilnadu's project.

There is a reson for this to happen can you guess.

If PM wouldnt have slapped Krishna probably PM and Sonia would have to bear 13 thunderous slaps (13 union ministers from Tamilnadu)

Tamilians are rulers of IT industry in Bangalore. So Tamilnadu claims ownership of bangalore
by Revolutionary on Apr 04, 2008 01:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Majority of the It Industry is employed with and ruled by Tamilians in Bangalore. Majority of the Companies in hosur also have offices in bangalore which are employed with majority Tamilians. This is because Tamilnadu is having the largest number of engineering colleges. Think if more than 300 engineering colleges in Chennai and surrounding only then how much will be there in the entire state. At a time when other states are making graduates in other disciplines Tamilnadu will flush lakhs of engineers to rule the technical feild for the coming century. Even a chest thumping malayali is bewildered over Tamilnadu cornering away of major businesses. This is because other states have not reformed techinical education. But why blame tamilians for this.

Given that over the years Tamilians are going to rule Bangalore and its IT industry Tamilnadu is laying claim on ownership of Bangalore. Probably because TN wants bangalore to be saved from the Commision Fox Deve gowda (example Nandi Project)

All tamilians will here by lead a struggle to retrieve bangalore from Karnataka.

Tamilnadu Revolutionary force is waiting to storm inside Karnataka to snatch Bangalore.

This clearly shows the callous attitude of so called Tamil revolutionalists. Incidents in Malaysia, Sri Lanka are a just to name a few. Today Bangalore, tommorow Singapore. I mean instead of respecting the local traditions and promoting oneness among the society wherever they live, Tamilians only care about Self Domination of their Language, their people.
In reference to whatever is happening about Hogenekkal, have you ever talked to a common kanndiga man and asked his views. The common man has no say into whatever these politicians instigate and propagate,it's all a political drama, they are leaving no stone unturned to show their commitment towards polics. It's high time you tamilians realise to associate yourself and feel as INDIAN more than a Tamilian

Krishna's appeal

The ex.Karnataka CM must have have been wrapped on the knuckles by madam sonia who will go out of the way to please TN CM for his critical support. but what type of cooperatio does he expect from Tamil Nadu, a downstream state? collect the water flowing into Tamil Nadu and send it back to Krantaka by tanker lorries?
Regionalism and fanaticism were the main planks for regional parties once, now the so called national parties have taken over from them!

it is karunanidhi who spoiled the chance for the students in tamil nadu who were in colleges during 1960s to learn hindi language
and now the result is these people in their middle age now feel betroyed and denied an opportunity to learn hindi in tamilnadu, either unable to communicate or travel freely in north or do business in north or go for employment in north.except tamilnadu, people in other states in south know hindi well.karuna
daughter, son in laws, nephews have learned hindi
now and even karunanidhi learned hindi and talked in one meeting- sudden love now.karuna
is an opportunitist politician who work only for the betterment of his family members and
did not do anything for tamil people.

Well said. I dont like that fellow. He is a great opportunist and a hypocrite. He may be a great scholar in tamil but all his ministers are good for nothing and are political gundas.
Each academic year they propose new Government orders to spoil education.
Also Jayalalitha is the same. Birds of same feather flock together.
The Dravida parties (DMK, ADMK, DK , MDMK, etc) introduced anti-Hindi protest in tamilnadu some 30 years ago. Now we the people are reaping its benefits. We cant even interact with other state people. ("Kinathu thavalai" - meaning "frog in the well")

They also made the caste system worser.
Also TN is the only state where the reservation stands at 69%, which is well above the 50% limit specified by Supreme court. Its all due to vote bank politics.

Also another thing is everyone in TN knows that that person behind former DMK minister Radhakrishnan's murder is Karunanidhi's son Alagari (Also for dinakaran office fire incident). But no action is taken against him. TN is in hands of morons. No political person is 100% perfect (in TN not even 1% perfect).

apocalypto , caste system got worse and it is maintained because its advantage to dravidian parties,

like say vijayakanth is a naidu, he shouts tamil tamil tamil in all his films and finally started a dravidian party, nobody accused him of starting a telugu party
now suppose karthik joins the forward block , it is projected as much as possible as a maravar party , this weakens their support from others. same with sarath, he runs a so called nadar party, this strategy is effectively used to weaken tamil political leaders even in national parties like congress , so kamaraj was framed as a nadar leader wherever possible.
there have been so many attacks against setc buses and theatres in KA, and nobody was arrested
but in TN hundreds have already been arrested for protesting , no dravidian will allow others to attack another dravidian, to hell with tamils !!!

Dear veeru it was Karunanidhi who secretly planned the dam in disputed area of hogenakal so that they can swallow it fom Karnataka. They run and oppose each and every plan of karnataka in cavery basin and complain to cauvery authority.Such people why hided this dam issue from Cauvery authority. He thought there is no Governament in Karnataka so wanted to utilise the situation.
Coming back to drinking water ,the same Tamil nadu stopped the cleaning of Ponds and lakes in three districts of Karnataka which were near to Cauvey(not belonged to River) fearing that Karnataka may store river water there and create shortage.you know each and every village has pond or Lake and if it is not cleaned what will happen to villagers.
Finally it was Karunanidhi who called Kannada people as Lingustic in public meeting and te whole world knows who are linguistic people.
if they people feel kannadigs are linguistic then why cant they accept hindi as National Language.
I really dont think there is any flaws in the information given by me and I do not suppot the quarrel between TN and Karnataka

Dear prashanth..
Read constitutional articles before referring National Language.. In India there is no national language. Hindi/English is a convenient language at the center and each state has their official language.Number of non hindi speakers are more than hindi speakers.

if you exhibit your cheap skills like this in a lousy fashion, who will like to integrate with you. You first learn to be a human being and stop barking some ugly words repeatedly. Your ugly words and funny effort shows that you are more interested in leaving hatredness over others but you are speaking about national integrity as if you are the son of that. your adive is totally a drama.
