WELL EXECUTED
by Ganesh moorthy on Apr 03, 2008 12:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is what British rulers wanted when they left INDIA. These kind of fights were well executed by them, dividing us in terms on Caste, Religion, Langauge etc. We should realise this instead of fighting like this. If we neglect to be broad minded in accepting other peoples no doubt we are going to stone age... all the political parties want to gain in this issue. If we are not able to solve a issue between 2 states then wat abt interlinking Indian Rivers (ofcours its a frogotten drama).

Geography Lessons
by Jai Babu on Apr 03, 2008 12:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Under the senile Karunanidhi,Tamil Nadu is the most QUARRELSOME and HYSTERICAL state in the country. Remember the Tamil Nadu Bandh when he even went against the courts? It is high time Tamil Nadu accepts that it is a RAIN SHADOW state of the Western Ghats and will always face water shortage. Remember our Geography in school. It shouls accept this and change its water consumption patterns for crops as well as drinking water instead of fighting with Kerala over Mulla Periyar, Karnataka over Cauvery and the Hogennekal falls and of course Andhra Pradesh from whom it regulary begs and borrows Krishna water! But their politicians are busy pandering to vote banks and the poor masses of Tamils living outside Tamil Nadu will bear the brunt of fury.

You must get reality lessons, the same Kerala and Karnataka are borrowing electricity from Tamil Nadu. So if Tamil Nadu say that you change your power usage patters will you accept. It is as if that there is 24hrs power in Tamil Nadu, There are power cuts even in Chennai today! Inspite of that power is being shared. SO, In that spirit water needs to be shared too. After all its one nation.

Yes, you are right. Karnataka politicians also do the same. That must be highlighted too. Kannadigas living in TN will also face the same fate as tamilians. Politicians of KTAKA an TN have to bear the root cause.

Have you ever thought of poor neighbour in your house? Have you ever feed a poor calling it to your house? Have your shared your knowledge in your subject to unprivileged class or your class mate? Have you ever come out of the Upper class attitude from you? Have your ever thought about without reservation all the colleges and Universities will be filled by Traitors like you? Now the ball is in Karnataka's court !
by krishnan bala on Apr 03, 2008 12:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Now that M.K. has clarified where does Karnataka stand. You should search for some other substantial cause to bolster your poll campaigns and not provoke mutual hatred. T.N. should exhibit their sanity and not perpetrate those un-healthy things that Karnataka has done and thus expose their culture. That will be their mental strength.Narayans and Vatals are in every state and sane people should see reason and bring back the amity that always exists between the two states.By stopping a tamil daily or by vandalising the cinema houses and stopping tamil channels being telecast, can you solve the problem ? See what violent reaction this has brought forth in Tamil mnadu to-day.!

When MK has not said anything provocative as alleged by SM Krishna, where is the problem. And don't forget taht SMK is a former CM himself. This happens everytime in Karnataka and no CM including SMK have ever bothered to control this. The same condition prevail now during President's rule too.In Karnataka it is always the same. Insanity and madness.

Dear Sir,
I understand your ire. We are in the same house. We should not throw missiles at each other. When we quote archeology and epigraphy to extoll our peaceful and hospitable ancestry we should be careful enough to safe guard what we are trying to protect namely the peaceful tradition.Do you approve Devgowda's speech regarding "Malaya Paksha" uttered when he was called to hand over power to BJP after Kumaraswamy's turn was complete ? As much as every politician adopts a posture in and out of office which should be treated with the contemptit deserves and not be actioned upon on the streets.

TN not for cordial relations
by Lopesh Desai on Apr 03, 2008 12:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Tamil Nadu should have officially requested Karnataka Government to allow the construction of the proposed drinking water project at Hogenakal, on humanitarian grounds. That they have no intention to have cordial relations with their neighbour, has been exhibited by their audacity of ignoring the sentiments of Karnataka. This is detrimental to the federal structure of the country. They are also ignoring the Centre because they are an important ally in the UPA set up. Elected representatives from Karnataka are not pro active in safeguarding the interests of the State in this particular issue. They have given this task to organisations like the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike. They take up the issue slowly after weighing the pros and cons of getting the votes from different groups. They are more interested in their selfish needs and use these issues accordingly. The Kannada organisations naturally take up these causes. But their methods of agitation and protests are not appreciable.

Please get to know about facts before you type anything here. The Hogenakkal Drinking Water Project was signed with mutual agreement by both the state govt's way back in 1998 itself, but the subsequent govts in Karnataka have been thwarting TN's attempt to go ahead with the project

Where is the question of seeking Karnataka's approvalwhen it is a centre sanctioned project. The TN assembly has only expressed anguish at Karnataka,s violent response to a humanitarian project. This is a civil approach in direct contrast to unbirdled violence let out in Karnataka.
