To CBI? Why not given earlier?
by Truth Teller on Apr 02, 2008 11:46 AM  Permalink

Police need some time destroy all the evidences, proofs, bribe people, etc., so that CBI can officially announce this as death by drowing.

Horrible.

The Goa Government decided to seek CBI Enquiry.
by Poor Man on Apr 02, 2008 11:45 AM  Permalink

Wise decision at LAST. (Hope they have not manupliated or hidden somes clues - Why the delay to approach CBI)
Goa should take immediate step to wind up Drug Cartel come what may.
Still we feel the decision should have been expedited which would have curtailed bad publicity against India and specially Goa when Mrs. Fiona was here. She has opened our eyes and we should appreciate her for this. A sucide matter has ended in murder which would make any body astonish least the mother of teenager Scarlette Keeling.
We should read the good points and god is the best to judge.

RE:Goa land of morons

There is a lot of concern if an Indian dies ...anywhere ...be it Goa or any other place. The outrage and the need for justice is the same ..if a murder/rape is committed against an Indian or against a foreigner...take for instance the Jessica Lal case. It is just that the media have an incredibly powerful role in deciding how long the public discussion will continue... the statistics show that 100 or so foreigners die every year in Goa ..either murdered or die of an drug overdose.. you don't find this kind of coverage, do you?

And finally, Goa is a wonderful place and the people are just as wonderful(no, I am not Goan) ... I find your title distasteful.

An outrageous crime...
by rocknroller on Apr 02, 2008 11:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The perpetrators of this crime are completely responsible for the crime and should be punished to the full extent. The police and the politicians who are not fulfilling their responsibility in ensuring a complete and transparent investigation and are trying to cover their larger involvement in the drug cartels and crime should be prosecuted. This is irrespective of Fiona not living up to her parental responsbility, irrespective of whether Scarlett should have been out at that time of the night, irrespective of the overdose of booze and drugs...those are areas that need to be dealt with seperately and completely removed from discsussions on the course of action .... prosecute the perpetrators.

u cannot remove "cause" of crime from the crime. even the law provides for less punishment if the acused was "inabriated" or was "provoked". the entire "environment" is taken into account before passing the sentence for punishment. but i agree that irrespective of these things the culprits should be brought before the court and face trial as soon as possible..

mother is also responsible...
by krishna tripathi on Apr 02, 2008 11:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the police should do the duty..that everybody understands. but think ..even if the police punishes the culprit can the mother get back her child? no. she should also have been a little responsible mother for her teenage daughter. in any country 15 yr old is a minor and is the responsibility of the parents
i m not saying that if a lady is heavily drunked and taken charas, she should be raped. i m just saying we have some moral responsibilities too. one should respect oneself as a female and take care of her dignity. that was too much whn a lady is heavily drunked and half naked dancing with guys. u cannot keep provoking others and then shout if something unfortunate happens. as an exmple, theft is a crime...agreed ?? so why do u lock ur doors before going out?coz u take care of ur money...got my point? leave ur house unlocked..go out..then if u r robbed..shout on the road.."i m robbed..police is not behaving properly..etc"...

Dont try to sermonise. Talk about the Murder and the subsequent actions by Goa Police. Why do you talk about the Mother? It was shocking that the Goa Minister tried to harrass the Mother to try to deflect attention from the Foul deed.

Mother has also to do her duty. I do not think mother has done the right thing by leaving her 15 year daughter with her lover and with out any money. But this will not absolve the killers. But mother is equally resposible. Give any punishment to the killers same punishment must be given to this mother who is a shame to to the noble word 'MOTHER'

Tripathyji,
Here Police is responsible for the RAPE, MURDER, etc.
Police is lethargic in solving the case.
You mean to say that if someone is naked roaming around, there is no harm in raping and the Police can be also pardoned as the girl was naked.

In which world we are living in and what example we are leaving for our children.

Rape and Murder should not happen PERIOD.

i never say that. read my lines. it is clearly written " m not saying that if a lady is heavily drunked and taken charas, she should be raped ". i m saying is that it is the family who loses after all. there is no harm in being a little "afraid"...than to run for justice afterwards..
