Learn Kannada
by adarsh on Apr 02, 2008 10:12 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In spite of being born and brought up in bangalore adn earning their salaries in bangalore, some of these Tamilians do not learn Kannada. Why cant they learn kannanda and its culture. If they are born and educated in karnataka, Tamilians should call themselves Kannadigas and not Tamilians

Dude ,
As a tamilian ...i would say one reply for this....this is a typical problem what marathi say to north indians in Maharasthra ...No north indians learn gujju or marathi when they shift to surat or pune or mumbai....
Same way tamils behave in Bangalore...
But.....
ITS THE GOVERNMENT WHICH IS TO BE BLAMED FOR THIS...DO ANY NORTH INDIAN GIVE UP HINDI ? DO ANY TAMILIAN GIVE UP TAMIL ? Hope u witness the unity of ppl in our TN when language is touched...
Why cant your politicians turn the same passion on u ...
U WILL KEEP UR HOUSE OPEN AND U WILL SCREAM THAT NO THIEF SHOULD COME AND ROB WHEN AM NOT THERE...who will listen to u ..

U guys shud have given your passion for the language which doesnt happen in Karnataka

Hi,

I totally disagree with you, it is not true that tamils dont learn to talk in Kannada in B'lore. Good many tamils talk in Kannada comfortably. Only few migrant labour have this language problem. As far as Tamil & Kannada are concerned there are lots of common words and easy to understand each others language. Only people like who have narrow mindset talk & write like this. Dont fall prey to the petty politicians words, who have no other work to do.

kannadigas in karnataka have a minority complex as Tuluvas, konkanis, marathis, kodavas, tamils, telugus and muslims make the majority in the state.

Please do not mix up Muslims,Tuluvas, Konkanis & Kodavas with others as they are part of Karnataka. The problem is Karnataka neighbours do not have proper family planning control in their states & the surplus unwanted populations is spilled into Karnataka creating problems

When there is an issue regarding a state, regardless of truth the politicians use anti-social elements to fight for their state and thus try to get a place in the voter's heart. This scenario happens both in Karnataka and Tamilnadu. No need to hype it as a news, because very educated individual in this country are aware of these gimmicks. Im sure these ballot centric riots will never help the politicians in future. These kind of news also will not find any space anywhere, in the coming days.

Mr. Sawant,
Please desist from making such a statement as "me Marathi". Be proud to call yourself "an Indian". It is due to narrow-minded people like you that so much disharmony is taking place in our beautiful beloved country.
