If he were indeed a historical figure, ruling over a minor regional kingdom in Ayodhya, Ram would probably have been relegated to a footnote in a history of the region and forgotten. Ramayana is hardly evidence of a flourishing aircraft industry in the time of Ram. Here it becomes entirely a political question, completely independent of the issues of Ram%u2019s historicity or otherwise. One political party, when in power, sanctions the canal project with great fanfare; out of power it smells an opportunity to get rid of its present doldrums, rattle the government and create a popular wave in its favour. All it needs to do is to stage a few demonstrations and TV channels and newspapers lap them up. The Indian electorate has shown on several occasions that it is not willing to be swayed by issues of this nature. Remember the defeat of the BJP in the Hindi belt in the wake of the demolition of the Babri masjid? If the UPA government has the will to call the sangh parivar's bluff on Ram Setu, it could still go ahead with the project after satisfying the Supreme Court. But the government went down on its knees even as the first few pictures of a few score protestors appeared on the TV screens. It was Indian democracy at its worst.

Hinduism is too broad a phenomenon to be confined to a usual definitions of religions. It does not owe its origin, formation or finalization to any historical person or a prophet since there is no uniformly accepted belief sacraments, rituals and practices in Hinduism, there are no criteria for establishing rules in Hinduism. In short a person who calls himself a Hindu becomes a true practicing Hindu irrespective who he worships and what ever may be his beliefs and practice.
c) According to the Hindu scholars Hinduism is a misnomer and it should be referred a Sanatana Dharma, meaning eternal religion or Vedic Dharma meaning religion of the Veda. According to Swami Vivekananda the followers of this religion is referred as Vedantist.
My faith is not weak, that some one say, that Lord Rama didnot exist, and I will start believing him. In fact, faith cannot be weak. I have a complete faith on Lord Ram's existence, thats all, no second thought in this regard. Hinduism respect all religions, and do not believe in converstion. This Universe created by God has its own importance. Let us understand the importance with open mind, then all will understand the beauty and importance of the God.

Man,Jesus is not white, he was an Arab from Middle east. He ate meat because he was hungry.Its normal practice to have meat as food.

We(TN) people need this project as planned. This project was delayed more than 2 decaded. We do not want any further delay. If Ramar is alive he will not support these type of nonproductive issues. He will also support this project. What is the current usage of this Ramsethu sand bridge. Is any public benefited on this sandbridge? Let them build the productive india. If you want grow hinduism please serve like vivekandar. Do not do such dirty politics. Leave us live a better life with better facilities.
