The Boyhood of Rama
On the banks of the Sarayu River stood the beautiful city of Ayodhya, the capital of Kosala. In the city there were magnificent palaces decorated with precious stones. Spires of great temples rose above the city as if to touch the sky. For protection, the city was surrounded by a great moat. The people of Ayodhya were peace-loving and happy. No one was ignorant or poor. Everyone had faith in God and read the scriptures daily.
Each person knew his or her role in society. The brahmins devoted their lives to studying the sacred texts. The rulers and warriors governed and protected the city. The farmers and merchants fed and clothed the citizens.
Yet, all was not well in Ayodhya. Dasaratha, the king was unhappy. Although he was very old, he had no son to inherit his throne.
One day the king called upon his priest Vasistha. "Vasistha," he said. "I am growing old. I long for a son, a son who will take my place on the throne."
The priest knew all too well that his king needed to have a son. He replied, "Dasaratha, you will have sons. I shall perform a sacred rite to please the gods."
Excited by this wonderful news, the king ran to tell his three wives Sumitra, Kaikeyi, and Kausalya, "I will have sons!"
At the same moment many of the gods were growing more and more

the nda approved this project and selected this very alignment that is being implemented now. when the bjp now tries to stop the project using the name of rama, the chief minister of tamilnadu responded by stating that rama was imaginary. who brought rama into politics,the bjp or the dmk. the chief minister also stated that the valmiki ramayana had references to rama being a drunkard. the chief minister also challenged advani for a debate. the educated people should realise that the bjp dragged rama into politics and is solely responsible for upsetting the feelings of hindus.

Obviously, no sane company would want a criminal on its payroll. It's as simple as that! The logical course of action would be to find out whether the crime was committed. NOT whether the person is real or imaginary.
Coming to the Ram Setu, even in BJP had previously allowed the construction of the Sethu project, they have realized their mistake now. It's very good on their part not to silently go along with the blasphemer Karunanidhi.

Now my dear, whatever you said was practised by all *caste* hindus, not just the brahmins. Karunanidhi himself has 3 wives and what happened in paapapatti and keeripatti is an outstanding example of this. If you treat someone below you in the caste order badly, how can you expect someone who is above you to treat you well? No, i am not giving the brahmins a clean chit nor am i condoning the threat to Karunanidhi. What Vedanti did was wrong. But to blame them exclusively for everything is wrong. A majority of the "backward castes" in TN weren't backward at all a few hundred years back. The temples were owned not by brahmins but by the patron king. Why didn't they let the lower castes in to the temple? If as per your claim education was exclusive to brahmins, then, the rest should have been illiterates. Is this the case? As for organised sector, it came in to being only after the British arrived. 200-300 yrs ago a fairly recent event. We witnessed stoppage of Vinayaga Chathurthi Procession in Ooty by Christains ably aided by DMK Hooligans.

Dear Sir, Please understand facts before you say anything. The person who abolished Sati and held a nation wide movement was Raja Rammohan Roy, an upper caste. Again in Tamil Nadu agreed that the situation was bad once but after Periyar things improved a lot and its been for the last 60-70 years. But still now you see that there are atrocities in some districts in and around Madurai. And who is responsible for that ?. Is it the Brahmins?. If the Brahmins are so oppressive how come that the current big political leaders and businessmen in TN are not brahmins?. The people who inflict these atrocities are the dominant community in those areas who are not Brahmins. But they can only be condoned by the political establishment because they are big majority in the vote bank arithmetic. Please dont mislead with the propaganda that is 50 years old. Please step in TN to find out how many of the goverment servants are Brahmins. They will hardly be 5%. Please understand that the Brahmins are such an impotent minority that they can be trampled upon on every issue in TN with impunity. Try doing this to the religious minorities. You cant just attribute every single problem to the Brahmins. We have peacefully coexisted with the worst reverse discrimination for more than 30 years. How many castes other than Brahmins are forward in TN, you count them. What else do you expect Brahmins to do, we are not landlords or dynastic businessmen, we can only do what comes to us and that it study.
