We need to raise at least 2 million Crack Moutain Units to have an Edge in All of Asia.
We can Collaborate with Several countries like Switzerland, Germany, Austria, US and UK to enhance our skills in this area.
We need to have the following active units in Our Vaunted Mountain ARMY
THE INDIAN ALPINE CORPS (IAC):
Single Mountain Brigade of the IAC should consist of: (HQ & HQ Company) 3- Mountain Infantry Divisions. of 500 men each
A (Mountain Reconnaissance bataillon) A (Mountain Signals Bataillon) A (Mountain Combat Engineer Bataillon) A (Logistic Bataillon) A (company-sized training center for transport mules and llamas) An AUXILLIARY wing of Helicopters and Ospreys (V22) to support the Mountain Brigades.
We need to set up additional (international training centers for mountainous areas and winter warfare) in Ladakh.
We can send cadets who are selected for this ELITE division of the Indian Army for training abroad in the initial phases.

With the demise of the Sviet Union, the World geo political scenario has undergone a sea change.
The Terrorism in Kashmir still remains unabated and the Indian government is loosing hundreds of soldiers and crores of rupees, is being spent to fight militancy.
Now that we have become very friendly with United States, we need to sign a pact with United States and UK to provide than with military bases in Kashmir, so that we have another ally to fight terrorism in Kashmir and we can earn billions of dollars as leases for these Military bases.
China also will be wary of attacking India again and Pakistan will stop whining and will not dare to attack India again.
Giving Military base to United States will give much needed respite to the Indian army also.
Kashmir will not be productive till the terrorism is curbed and giving military bases to United States and UK, is oe of the ways to bring about stability in Kashmir.
In case of World War III , which is likely to happen, Pakistan is going to align with other middle eastern nations against the fight between the West and the middle east countries.
This is the classic culmination of the "Clash of Civilization". Having military base in Kashmir, will help United States to deal with Pakistan in such an event

do us all a favor... Never become a military strategist in your life.. Just because USA is not involved in Kashmir, Kashmir has not gone the way palestine. You are suggesting, but Pakistan has always insisted.. pakistan always insisted for international face for Kashmir issue... To this date, there has not been a single American directly involved into Kashmir.. In fact, not a single American government offical who has reached Indian government for access, has been guaranteed... Americans go to Pakistan border, look across at Kashmir

I DO NOT agree with your suggestion ONE BIT !
Kashmir should be manned by the INDIAN ARMY and INDIAN PARAMILITARY FORCES ONLY. We will not and cannot allow external forece to enter Kashmir.
The Indian army is quite capable of managing the situation in Kashmir.
Only the Manpower and specialization shortage should be dealt with.
The Bulk of the fighting between the Indian and Pakistani Armies or Indian and PLA will occur is mountainous terrain. Whether it takes place in Kashmiri (Ladakh) or POK (Baltistan, Skardu) among the Karrakorams.
Hence, I have included more information on Mountain warfare.
Although this article has been written by a Pakistani It does provide some insights and is worth reading. I believe the Indian Army in Kashmir is aware of the complexities of Mountain warfare.
India needs to place special emphasis on raising the %u201Cbest of the breed%u201D CRACK units for this kind of warfare. We need both Quantity and Quality.
All war scenarious should be investigated from Co-ordinating Para-drops with dug in and held positions to using noiseless JET-PACKS to scale sheer cliffs, to rapelling up sheer slopes to using Skis and snow scooters.
We need at least 2-3 million mountain troops for the Indian ARMY to be effective in these areas.
The INDIAN ALPINE CORPS (IAC) needs acquire a new menacing dimension. Skills can be aquired if we TRAIN with the forces of US and UK
If a turk is not a muslim, he does not become a lesser turk. If an Arab is not a muslim he does not become a less Arab and a Persian is still a Persian, even if he is not a muslim. Simla Agreement states that Kahmir and Jammu are integral parts of India. They are not disputed territory. I really wonder you didn't do your homework. Mr. Mush didn't teach you that. Remember this is not pakistan that your words are treated like goespel.
India has every right to do joint exercise with any country at any place in India. What Pakistan has to do with the exercises. They should be made aware of this fact and asked to refrain from indulging in the internal affairs of India.

Same thing Nuclear deal. Why Pakis not saying much or making much of a deal? Answer is very simple, Communist are doing their(pak)job. For the Pakis it is music to their ears.
