A political party which is the ruling party of a state, an ally of the ruling party in the center, calls for a Statewide General Strike to press it's ally at the center, for the speedy implementation of the sethusamudram project. The motive of the strike is to express people's support to the project. Would there not be an alternative means to achieve this motive? 1. Hon'ble CM can write to Hon'ble PM. 2. Hon'ble CM can lead a delegation of all political parties to meet Hon'ble PM to press for the speedy implementation. 3. All political parties which require speedy implementation of the project can organise public meetings all over Tamilnadu. 4. Every citizen who wants speedy implementation can write to PM or to the concerned Minister. We can avoid a General strike at the cost of sufferings of our own people.

Y do we need politicians in the first place...I guess president's rule is the best for India!!!
Please express your opinions but individual opinions and not as representative of the society - for example "Tamils of Tamil Nadu" it seems... such people think that if 5-10 people believe in something, thats the opinion of the whole state...
TN has bigger problems that it has to deal with and it needs to do that instead of working up communal issues and calling bandh which results in loss of money and nothing else...

This is purely a staging by the DMK and BJP with the Congress and other parties ready to pounce based on the outcome of people. Each one wants to draw attention to un-necessary items by not giving concern to other major issues bothering the country. They should lay aside religion for the citizens of India to decide what to choose and not to choose and try to do their work than to create havoc not only in the state but the country as whole. What they are not realising is that the whole World is watching. Also Indians are getting more literate by the day and so should decide wisely the next time they choose their votes.
For sethusamudram project, bandh is not a solution. Political parties wants to make this project as a big Political mudda and will get benifitted. In the list of affected......., only normal people will be their. So stop the bandh and open your eyes.
Though India is a secular country, our democratic regulations gives a pavement for respect other's religious belief and myths. "Secularism" in India is actually misjudged as the being against 'Hinduism'. In-short, one can illustrate himself as an atheist or secular person if he delivers some non-sense thoughts against Hindu rituals. No politicians in India are an exception in this regard. We already have a parallel solution for this "Sethusamuthiram Project" and by this the Tamils and Tamil Nadu can achieve its goal. Hence this Bandh is just an eye wash by the Tamil Nadu government to capture the attension and votes of the non-Hindus.
The Tamils of Tamil Nadu will not allow it to be manipulated by the BJP under the cover of religion to stall growth in the state . These hidden agenda`s by the BJP`s are too transparent .They could get away with that 60 years ago in the Old India .But not in the New India and in today`s world . The combative policies of the BJP and the ramayana belongs to the era of the past. This is New India.
..... eradication of poverty and growth is the primary goal of every modern day leader and the goal of every nation in todays world. And that is the dream of Tamil Nadu .
Outfits as the BJP must be banned . They are deceitful with their twist and turns and dishonest to the core. The destruction of the Babri mosque and the communal riots killing thousands of muslims in Gujurat was orchestrated by the BJP .This we all know and we are only too familiar and the BJP is at it again to create instability under the guise of religion to unseat the central government . Now they are taking on the Adam`s Bridge in Tamil Nadu with their hidden agenda to wrest power from the centre and create de-stability in Tamil Nadu ..
Its time that India learn a lesson from countries as Singapore. The developement of its people and growth takes primary importance . Race and religion are never used and all religions and races are respected .With this the people accommodate and live in peace and in harmony with one another . We are all free and no one imposes on another .Like Singapore, India is a secular nation and the foundation of India must be built on that premise . India can`t afford the communal politics of Sri Lanka.If India is to continue as a Union of nation then the sovereignity and autonomy of the state must be respected.Each state will decide and architect their own policies and developments. Or India`s dream will be shortlived and its eventual demise.

Please do not make claims that are not substantiated - its easy to say that communal riots were targetted by BJP - Do you know what SIMI and Muslim League are upto...
Can you explain the Hyderabad blasts or the Mumbai blasts
Analyse both sides of the coin before talking else just dont talk
And dont make statements on behalf of Tamil Nadu - you are no one to do that - you just express your individual opinion and this is not the statement of Tamil Nadu...
