Tamilians
by Desi on Sep 24, 2007 08:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I always believed that tamilians have protected their faith and culture even after mughals and british envasion.. I know a lot of tamilians names as sriram, ramaswamy, bala krishna etc..while in northern india these days fancy names like Raj, Yash are popular..

Lot of music and dances of like bharatnatyam originated from tamil nadu and contents includes lot of stories from ramayna..

What happened to tamilians now..not only they have leader who is atheist and he is denying ram.. Bhartnatyam , Diwali , dussehra would name make sense any more..

i am sure most tamilians are religious and not atheist. and even if they are atheist they dont drive any sadistic pleasure by hurting other's religious feelings.

Ram Setu - Age !
by Pritish Nagaraj on Sep 24, 2007 08:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The four ages (Yugas)
The four yugas equal one yuga-cycle (divya-yuga)

Satya-yuga: 1,728,000 years
Treta-yuga: 1,296,000 years
Dvapara-yuga: 864,000 years
Kali-yuga: 432,000 years
An age of Manu (manvantara)
The life of Manu = 71.35 yuga-cycles i.e. 308,232,000 years

We are now in the 28th yuga-cycle of the current Manu, Vaivasvata.

Fourteen Manus rule in one day of Brahma

Vaivasvata is the seventh Manu in this day of Brahma.

A day of Brahma
= 1000 yuga-cycles

One year of Brahma = 360,000 yuga-cycles

The life of Brahma = 36 million yuga-cycles
= the life of the universe
= 311,040,000,000,000 years.

Shri Ram descended almost at the end of Thretha yug... so there you go... any more q's ?

BTW these details are from Shrimad Bhagawatam - Author Vyasadev, who is also the author of 4 Vedas !

FATWA ISSUED BY RELIGIOUS HEADS IS A WRONG PRACTICE.
THOUGH I AM A BJP SUPPORTER I CONDEMN THE FATWA AGAINST KARUNANIDHI.
PERSON ISSUING FATWA SHOULD BE PUNISHED MERCYLESSLY.
WHETHER HE IS A HINDU.MISLIM,CHRITIANS ETC ETC

hindus, christians, sikhs and buddhists shud unite to fight the greatest scourge on this planet: islamic fundamentalism. if a hindu girl marries a christian or sikh, they let her freely follow her religion. but muslim husband and in-laws force her to adopt islam.

Well nobody is going to argue if Shiva or Vishnu is god -- Or for that matter Jesus or Allah as you would love to hear their name too -- Now if you tell me --Harry potter or Ram is god then there would be questions buddy. And they are legitimate.

If Ramsetu was in Afghanistan and they were destroying it, probably we couldn't have done much !

However since we are living in a integrated country, where if the borders of Kashmir are not secure the cascading effect will be felt down till hyd/chennai/blore ! .. hence anything that affects Hindu sentiments anywhere in India does have its impact on all TRUE followers of Hinduism !

What about Krishna? You parents would have been really dumb to name you after krishna..You should change that name first..before preaching anybody else.. I'd die if I have to keep a name of comic character..or start beleving in them.
