Govt (Congress) is not transparent about the deal.
by Uttamkumar Samanta on Sep 22, 2007 11:55 PM  Permalink

I think BJP should support the deal. But problem is Govt (congress) is not trasparent
about the deal.

Moreover they even do not go for the extensive debate and vote.
That would be healthy democracy.
Joint Parliamenttary committee would be another healthy approach.
If Vajpayee or Narashimha Rao would been there, then could take most intellegent approach.
But MMShing is a puppet PM, he cann't go beyond Sonia Maino...Because she does not like BJP or
respect opposition.

Here Congress is doing some dangerous mistake and they cann't and should not say "no
international deal should pass through the parliament" What a nonsense logic ! Then
whatever other country tell India, India should
sign the deal....NOT ACCEPTABLE any time...

Wait for Eternity
by Lalatendu Deo on Sep 22, 2007 11:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whether there would be a drastic change in the Attitude of the US if the next President comes in? It seems there would not be a sea change in the thinking of the Administration. The essence of the deal is the Nuclear Trade. And the basic thrust would not change.

The Point is not the change in the Reign, it is the soundness of the deal. If there would be change in the level of commitment by the US every time there is a change in the Administration, then no deal ever is worth having with that Country.

So will it not be Prudent to wait for next to next Administration of 2012? Or shall we wait for 2016?

If we wish to have some changes in the text of the Deal, let us be specific. If we wish to have some clarifications from the US, let us have it before operationalizing the deal. But, for God's sake please do not call those unrelated and unimportant things to the fore.

by indian on Sep 22, 2007 10:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This comment shows that these people have no idea how to do foreign policy, nuclear policy and enery policy and for that matters for any thing. These idiots just have oppose and just have to say something even if it has no meaning.
We can compare the today's WB and WB 4 decades ago when it was intellectual, literature capital of India and see if we should any damn about Left comments.

I think left in India has outdated thinking, they do not want USA tie up with India.
but in doing so they are hearting INDIA's progress. I do not know Where their Loyalties are. Communism as Philosophy has lost its Steam
after collapse of Former USSR and China Tied with USA. Though Carl Marx had Valid arguement agaist Capitalist Greed- That was in EUROPE.This is India.

India is mature enough to handle any Country, so why fear USA, It is in INDIA's HUGE benifit
to go ahead with deal, I would say Bengali Left are pragmatist, Keralite experience with Left is a failure in Economic sense, I see many Come to GUJARAT for Job. This said and done. There is still time for Left to reconsider.

This deal will not Go through if Bush is not president in USA, I am in USA. So wise up.

What we need is Grass Root education about what is at Stake, for India and Howmuch to loose for few's STUPIDITY.

My personal opinion is, this Deal will Go through with or without LEFT. Only thing is LEFT
will loose credibility on issue of LOYALTY to Country.

Though they have solid base in two states, out of two Bengal will come out as Pragmetic realist, the other as Idealistic without foot on reality as is present today's state of World.

Time to Ponder and Think right for Party and Country, in Final analysis no one is going to hold our hand, Neither China nor Russia.

At present Geopolitical Shifting reality, our Aspiration are in Synchrocity with USA, So it is tame to Grab opportunity. If

The say, donkey praises its own tail fits on this comment. China and Pakistan would be more happy with the deal as Indias wings are being clipped and India can not develop any N-weapon for its defence. This proves that those running the goverment are traiters. Please WAKE-UP.
