Religion is the last resort of the scoundrals. This is true for all religions: hinduism, islam, sikhism etc etc.
Religion should only be in the private sphere of ppl. It should be made irrelevant in public domain. It should have no influence in policy making and other projects.
If this setu project hampers the ecology (i do not know - scientists can judge), then it must be scrapped. But it must not be scrapped because of any religious sentiments.
ppl must build up enough maturity to make religion no-issue in public life. Are the Hindu fundamentalists/Muslim fundamentalists listening?

Ppl must be made to pay penalty for displaying religion in public life. For example, the hindus block the roads like monkeys during uncountable number of pujas - all have to be taxed. the muslims shout over loud-speakers like donkeys, esp on friday - that also has to be taxed. the christians create traffic jams in front of churches in sunday morning and wednesday evening - that also should be taxed.

These politicians are sick. The people shouting along with them are sick. Why are they all hindering the infrastructure projects? Let RAMA lived or not[I am a HINDU and worship GOD everyday]. Is this Ramasethu bridge is of any use to the nation? Is it connecting India and Srilanka now? Is there any transport happening over it now? Any tourists visting that place and government making huge money over it? NO is the answer for all these Qs. Look at other countries - there is a suez channel, panama channel, english channel. Did those countries have such problems constructing these projects?[We don't know]. Did u all know that a ship from calcutta/chennai to cochin has to go around srilanka? Even if u can't do anything good to the country, atleast don't stop people from doing something good.

No One is opposing the project. Politicians can say to the people that Ram exists but we have to go ahead with the project. Thats it.
Why the statements like Ram is just a character. He is a drunkard. Can these politicians say the same thing on Allah and Jesus and demolish all the Dargas, Churches which are obstacles for road-widening?
When Scientists have came up with six other alternatives, why they are adamant.

the ecological damage is enormous, so is the elevated risk of tsunamis. we can convert that spot into a great tourist place. the money invested in that far exceeds known revenues. also, the need for transport by ships can be handled in most parts by rail networks, only large machinery needs to be transported by ships. otherwise, for most parts, its highly politicised. there's zero transparency to describe its usefulness, not there's a debate thats meaningful to evaluate the whole thing.
What was written by yechuri is really nice. I don't understand why people r not liking it & condemning it without reading it properly. No one has thought in this evolution terms when one reads about dashavtaras. It has in fact made me really proud of the aryan (and eventually) philosophy & their (aryans)intellectual depth.

The original inhabitants were Dravidians, who were a cultured and peace loving people. They were not anticipating any invasion from any where. The Aryans came on horse back and drove back to the Dravidians into jungles. Don't be so proud of the Aryans. Even today the Adivasis who are reall inhabitants of this land are suffering and struggling.

i totally agree but then we ve to choose the lesser thief among the bigger thiefs. ow congress, dmk,rjd,paswan,cpm ye sab bench khanyege india ko. because of this attitdue people like yechuri r sharing power at the center.
First of all it is very unfortunate that in our country our politicians are involved in insulting hindu sentiments.If somebody raises his view in support of hindu he will be treated as comunal.If somebody says for other comunity than by this time there would have been issued FATHVA.As we know what happened in the case of TASLIMA case in HYDERABAD. My point is that no one should insult the sentiments of other comunity. I don't know why these politicians are behaving like this.As they are in power so they are utterning what ever they like for sake of votes. If these things continues like this definately our country will divide in two parts again. I request all politiciance pl don't involved in such type of things and try to find the way for the developement of this counry.
