If BJP's stand can be termed as jingoistic and communalistic, what about the other so called secular parties? In india secularism is equal to hindu bashing! While people were up in arms for banning farzania, a similar sentiment about muslims being blamed for everything was well espoused in Chak De and it ran packed houses and without incident in Gujrat. If things are depicted in a right spirit, hindus will accept it! This country has housed muslims for over 10 centuries and christians for well over 500 years and need no certificate from any country / any communists or any lessons on how to live with our muslim and christian brethens. While the Tamil nadu and Central government should have gone to the public at large, explaining how the project would save plenty of time and fuel by building the canal over sethu samudram and how development would take place along coastal areas of india and how it will stimulate trade and bring economic prosperity, it went about questioning the existence of Ram! Ideally both centre and TN government could have avoided this and even if objections were raised, it could have been put across saying that Shri ram built the bridge to bring back Sita and after the accomplishment of that mission, the bridge had served the purpose! If Mr. Karunanidhi was indeed serious of the project, he as an executive should have taken the care to inform the public the utility value of the project and how it would help the people rather than question the sentiments

Imagine what would have happened if karunanidhi spoke about islam that allah is a drunkard or jesus is a drunkard. He had been shot point blank by this time. It is hindus that are taking lightly on any comments passed on the religion be it karunanidhi, or mf hussain paintings.

If Just quoting what valmiki said in his Ramayana hurts Hindus then there must be something seriouly wrong with Ramayana. Karunanidhi has reiterated that whatever he said about Ram are not his personal opinions but what is said in Valmiki's Ramayana and "history of World" Written by Jawaharlal Nehru. Did they hurt Hindus?

Mr. Siva kumar The issue is whether sethu samudram project is to be proceeded with or not! Mr. Karunanidhi should have taken pains to explain the merits of the project, rather than hurting some ones sentiments when it was not required to be commented upon! Dictionary also contains lots of words of abuse, do u use them in front of ur parents ? They should not be offended, for it is in the dictionary! There is a thing call propriety, which unfortunately is missing in karunanidhis one track hindu bashing infested DNA. I have no problem with karunanidhi questioning religious belief in totality! But selective religious bashing shows shamness of his character! If he is of scientific temperament, he should desist from partaking rice stew during ramzan, inviting sai baba at home, and garlanding and offering flowers to the dead leaders of his party!

It is the Congress and the UPA in total, are spreading the Communalisim by making a statement that there is no historical relevance regardng the presence of Ram.
One should ask a simple question that, can UPA say a single word against the faiths and believes of Minorities.
I would say that, BJP is not encashing the situation properly.
It is the main issue of reducing the distance of travelling by crossing that sea, instead of taking round the Srilanka. By boat it may take approximately 3 days to reach upto Kerala, Mangalore, Goa and any part of Arabi samudra from Vishakha pattanam and that side. As there is a waste technological developments instead of moving by boat with taking 3 days time let us use air boats which makes to reach any part withing 4 to 5 hours instead of 3 days. Let us not raise this issue itself by any political party for it may be Congress, BJP, Karunanidhi or any party. They want to come into news one way or the other instead of solving the issues peacefully. This issue itself can be solved in hidden azanda's. instead of making a big issues and also by reducing time consumed in travelling and also at reduced cost, and also by providing extraordinarily good facility of airplain from Andamannikobar, Singapur, Vishakapattanam towards Mangalore, Kerala, Karwar, Goa, Ratnagiri and even upto Mumbai. Please let us solve problem peacefully. I am being a BJP worker I warn BJP also to not to make this as a Big issue. Suggest it to use easy way's like airlift then naval travel. Please try to understand and let us protect the feelings of people and also dieing people in this issue. Soniyaji, Karunanidhiji, Advani & party stop this issue at this movement only.

I dont want to be communal here. But just wondering:
What is your scientific take on the Old Testament which states human race started with Adam and Eve? What does the Garden of Eden, the Forbidden Fruit and the Snake stand for? Are you indicating that only Hindu epics talk of scientific truth?
Speaking of the Bible, a majority people of the most industrially and scientifically advanced nations follow it (at least on paper). Why is it that the administrators/intellectuals in those countries are not trying to disect the Bible scientifically and just accept it as the foundation of their faith?

this is not something told by yechuri. This is the interpretation of some real intellectuals and swamis. So trying to blame him for this is meaningless.
Ram is an Aryan just like Jesus or Muhammed and has no place in South India where Dravidians live. We don't need Ram rajya, we need Dravidians rulers to rule South India!!!!
