I am not familiar with Pakistan's jurisprudence. It appears to me that the issue of Musharraf's uniform is moot, since he has already represented to the Supreme court that he would give up his uniform. Keeping his uniform for few more weeks is not going to make any material difference.
Secondly, the cases brought against him are untimely. Musharraf has been holding two offices (one of which is ceremonial and comes with the job) for several years, and the opposition parties wake up now to petition court just weeks ahead of the election. This is in bad faith and filed for the purposes of harassment and delay.
These cases if they had any merit should have been brought years ago. This cannot be termed as an emergency situation for Supreme Court to intervene.
These cases should have been adjudicated in the lower courts first. The Supreme Court cannot jump on a case willy nilly at the whim of a political party at the last minute.
The Supreme Court should dismiss these cases in the interest of justice as untimely and moot.
