If she was in INDIA definetly she would not have an oppertunity to prove herself, becaue she is not belonging to any backward cast. More over if she is in INDIA she would been a house wife till now. Here people fight for backwardness not forwardness like people fighting for reservations as they can't study by themselves.

While I do not know what religion she is, this question may refer to a hoax that has been around which claims that she converted to Islam because of things that she saw while on the moon. The claim refers to her as the 'first Indian woman on the moon'.
This is completely false. Not only is she not the first Indian woman on the moon, there have been no women at all on the moon as yet.
The gross factual errors alone show the credibility of the claim. Similar claims exist about other celebrities too which are mainly due to evangelist enthusiasm.
In her recent visit to Gujarat,India the country to which she belonged originally,during press meet she never claimed that she had embraced Islam.
