by V S on Sep 18, 2007 06:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't get it. If RAM was a myth then why are we wasting time on him ?

Lord Rama was famous for his Ramrajya (read efficient administration).

Accordingly, Ram would whole heartedly approve of the Govt's noble intentions of this project which would benefit the country and the world at large.

pl do not politicise the whole issue. let us get along with this project without more heart burn.

Jai Siya Ram...

Problems is that the canal still won't be deep enough for really huge tankers and vessels which form a majority of the vessels [60,000 dead weight and up sizes] while the current plan only allows ships of size 30,000 to pass through. Besides the waters after digging will be unetsted waters and no vessel might want to test them at their own expense or risk. The canal will not be wide enough for free navigation and so ships will sail through slowly and burn up more fuel. So some hours saved will not be worth their while to spend on more fule and pay taxes for going through. Ships that don't use Indian ports at Kanyakumari will not need that route at all. The cost of dregging sand over and over to maintain the canal will be a whopping 100 crores a year.

Apart from this loss of ecology, coral reefs, the impact on marine life and fishing and consequent natural repurcussions if the interference with the sea creates natural disturbances or imbalances is not taken into account. the enxt Tsunami or earthquake in the sea may prove more fatal with it's natural barriers tampered with. Forget Ram, nature will never forgive us for this folly and we will reap the destruction of the sea's natural flow at leisure in a big way. Kerala and Tamil nadu coasts will be highly vulnerable to the next great sea disaster.

This project has been initiated purely to mint money out Rs 2,500 crores is all and that is what all this fuss is about.

Good, But this idea must be universal. If a mosque or church or any other worship place comes in way of developement similar treatment must be made without any exemption. Then your view is welcome. But selective attach on Hindu sentiments is objectionable.

NDTV's biased reporting
by purna on Sep 18, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sam Daniel is part of the Christian dominated, and christian financed NDTV. Barka Dutt calls Ramayana and Mahabharatha as old-ladies-tales in Sunday night programme. These pseudo-secularists have no respect for hindus. I hope one day they make a similar remark about muslims and face fatwas. They are disgusting

by forr on Sep 18, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink

Dear BJP,

Please mind your business. Dont waste time in condeming this and that. We thought you are good guys and want something good for country but you are also from same pool of currupt and selfish politicians. Your response on nuclear deal, Prez election has been very disappointing.

BJP the fox!!
by George Sunny on Sep 18, 2007 06:18 PM  Permalink

I'm reminded of the fox who waited till the lions fought and killed each other... So that it can have the spoil!!

Remember BJP's challenge..."The communist does not have the guts to withdraw support..nor does the Congress have the guts to go ahead with the deal": if either of this happened BJP is to benefit

Now again... pouring oil into this bridge issue

Now thats what we call constructive criticism by the opposition party... It constructs their political dreams

What these MKarunanidhi is doing the rubish thing , this man has just lost the mental balance as he giving these VHP bajrang dal & all other so called hindu protagonist to rake up the communal hormony &just playing up the local politics & spoiling the communal hrmoany at nationla level . This is very dangerous & LORD RAMA is just not revered by Hindus in India but ACCROSS the GLOBE.This is not acceptable at all & can dare to vilify the other rellgion , I don,t thinf he will.
The old man has just lost the mental balance.
This NDTV is fake TV is just have lost the cerdibility & this will give rise.
You read the greta thinker & you beleive. Can u believ that some with human features can write a EPIC like RAMAYANA,GITA, SHAKUNTAm without the blessing of LORD RAMA.

Yes I agree. There are many Shri Ram temples in TN too. This is just evil design of vested interests to divide nation further on many more lines than we already are.Divide and Rule has been tried on us many times before -let us wake up to such nefarious desgins. What one Karuna shiiitttthhhhole says does not represent TN

1st of all credibility of NDTV is what? Its a shoe licker of congress. Now TN is a part of India. They cant have their own thinking be nationalised as per Sam. In neighbouring Andhra one of the biggest temples of Rama is located in Bhadrachalam. Karunanidhi says his own version as he is likely to get some kickbacks.
NDTV has lost TRP ratings credibly.
