After the elections, Musharraf and Benazir will both shed their uniforms at the same place and at the same time in full presence of the media.

Mr. Mush & uniform
by zainul abedin sayed on Sep 18, 2007 03:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What is Musharraf without uniform ? And do you think Mushrraf will shed his uniform to become a civilian president ? Impossible. He is playing
his cards right.Which Pak leader is trustworthy as far as India is concerned ? None.Pak should be ruled with an iron hand with soft heart or the politicians will destroy Pak same like what Indian politicians are doing to India. The Pak politicians have no other issue than Kashmir to win votes.Musharraf atleast has taken a step to have peace with India, the day civilian govt takes over Pak, problems of Kashmir will start cropping up.More terrorists will be pumped into
India because Bhutto or Sharif would like to be in the good books of the terrorist organisations
to save their own life.Bhutto and Sharif are same like their Indian counterparts (barring a few),corrupt, selfish, over ambitious and are least bothered about the poor masses.Only thing
Musharraf should do is be in good books of India
and treat India like a BIG Brother, sincerely fight terrorists along with India and stop pumping terrorists in Kashmir. Why not the army man for next five years in Pak.When the Germans have united,Koreans are comming closer to be one
why not India n Pak start the process? After all
Pak is also an integral part of India isnt it Mr.Musharraf ???

Musharaff is giving malitary uniform does'nt mean that he will forget his malitary tactics to bring down the elected democratic government. He proved himself he not capable of handling what is doing al these years-exporting terrism to other countires.PAk army will not digest these thing. His days are nearer a sitution looks like.

What if he looses
by Julian Martyn on Sep 18, 2007 02:35 PM  Permalink

With the situation now, it seems like the opposition will come together and pose a harder challenge.

If he looses, will he give up his post or not?

Mushraff go ahead
by A V Jayaraman on Sep 18, 2007 02:09 PM  Permalink

Pakistan needs Mush more than US and India. He curtailed the progress of corrupt politiacns like Benazir, Shariff and others.Benazir did not honor Simla pact same as Shariff stabbed in the back of India during Kargil war. Mush is the one who initiated positive discussion with India , not like Simla Agreement. He is now fighting against terrorists in Afghan and restricted their entry to J & K. Let us not talk about the demerits of his adminstration. Actually India also needs a strong person to fight against corruption and prevent entry of self centred politicians to parliament and to become minsters. It is my view that Mush should be in Pak in what ever capcity he can.

mush ..gives up uniform with life
by Chanakya on Sep 18, 2007 02:05 PM  Permalink

it would be stupid by Mush if he gives up the post of Army Chief and opts for civilian President....then the history will repeat..in Pak, there would be another military chief takeover and Mush will be wiped out...

Bush --The Commander-n-Chief

US President also holds a second office of Commander-n-Chief of Armed Forces.

There appears to be no uniformity when it comes to Musarraf.

Whats good for the gander is good for the
goose.

Technically India President is also supreme commander of Indian Army. But it is only technical like US president. But Musharraf case is different. He is actually the chief of Army as well as president. Don't fool yourself.
