Last year, when Da Vinci Code movie was released, christian groups protested and then Karunanidhi agreed and said that the movie should be banned to respect Christian sentiments.
I felt that was right. But now DMK is disrespecting sentiments of Ram worshippers...

who filed this case in the court and made a non issue into an issue where the hindus are being fooled that they have been disrespected. the bjp will always make the hindus feel as second class citizens so that they come to power using those feelings. the day it gets a full majority,it will tinker with the constitution and start the breakup of our country. how can anyone disrespect hindus,if they are interested in winning elections. 80 % of the people in the villages,who vote are hindus.

What non-issue? If any Hindu raises his voice to support his religion, it is branded as 'Saffron'. Just remember, this same Government showed alacrity in banning the Satanic Verses and the Last Supper by Martin Scorcese because these upset the sentiments of Muslims and Christians respectively. But when it comes to Hindu issues, anybody who raises his voice to defend his values and religion is branded as 'Communal' and 'saffron'. The affidavit has been framed by some insane person who must be doubting even the existence of his/her own father as to who actually his/her father is. He must be asked to say his comments about existence of Prphet Mohammed, Jesus Christ, let him say the same thing and then see how the whole world will burn. It is a very very serious issue which can never and never end with the suspension/dismissal of an official or resignation of an egoist minister/even govt. It is alright that Hindus are sobre, mild and can tolerate any thing, but the courage of an official or a minister to state such a thing on an affidavit shows how much insensitive the govt. is. These persons need to be tried in the court, for offences under relevent sections, which should include an attempt to distort history under a cospiracy and awarded highest punishment. Before all this, the present USELESS GOVT. AT THE CENTRE should be immediately dismissed by the President of India,

It is shocking and disheartening to know that the two high ranking officials have been made scapegoats in the whole fiasco, the officials who may have been trying to serve orders from the minister itself are now in a abysmal position. This kind of high handedness of politicians and ministers has to stop and somehow we Indians have to stand up and take a note of the same.

Just offers to resign? In Government offices, it is not the officers who make the drafts. Any important document is first discussed with the minister level. OFFICERS PREPARE DRAFTS AS THE MINISTERS WANT THEM TO. Then the minister approves them officially. Can any one believe that the two poor officers prepared that affidavit themselves and then submitted it to as big an institution as the Supreme Court of India? Ambika Sony got the draft made to please Sonia Gandhi, then she ran away to Japan leaving the mess behind and now she just OFFERS to resign? When Balasaheb Thakeray is prosecuted under the pretext that he makes speeches disturbing communal harmony, Ambika Sony should also be charged with far more serious conspiracy charges.

The Minister first makes the decision how to deal with the matter. Then she discusses it with 'madam'. Then she calls secretary or the under-secretary and tells him what to do.The secretary in turn calls the departmental head for discussion and gives directions how the minister wants the document. The departmental head calls the officer and directs him further. The poor officer and the poor departmental head is always under the impression that they are doing the right job obeying the order of the Ministry. If they show resistance, anyway they get punishment. So they can't resist. It is better to follow minister's orders. AND EVERYTHING TILL THE OFFICER IS INSTRUCTED HOW TO MAKE THE DRAFT IS ONLY ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND NO WRITTEN RECORDS. When the thing boomerangs, the poor officer and the departmental head is first suspended as an eyewash and to show people that govt is doing something. The poor officers' family lives are totally disturbed by this time and they run here there for support. Govt has the money and legal department, but the officers have none. They fail. The Minister prevails. Sonia prevails. This is the way it is always with the ordinary people.
