Excellent article Tarun... I'd like to add something to this so called 'scientific proof' issue. Whatever we call the science or scientific is also based on some hypothesis. And this hypothesis the somebody's imagination. Until all the theories based upon this hypothesis predicts accurately what is actually observed in physical world, we regard this as correct. And a branch of science grows with it. They arises the million dollar question: "what is science actually?"... the best answer is : it is some gifted person's imagination. Then why we don't we believe the things written by one such person called Valmiki when all most his written things are clearly observed even in todays world except the then living beings? Just because he was an Indian? What would have happened if those things were written by some western poet?... Now, come to the three letter word GOD. Can anybody in this earth scientifically prove that god exists? (its an open challenge... I'll give everything I have to anybody who can prove it... ) Then why do our government left so much property under utilized in the name of "place of worship"?.. when nobody can prove scientifically that someone called God exists? Just for example imagine value if some residential structures are developed at the prime locations of Delhi where the Lotus Temple or the Akshar Dham Temple exists? Moreover ask any builder about the value of the land where the Jama Masjid exists? Now I think the govt should demolish all these structures

Huh, do not post hollow challenges. Anyway, if you really want to get into this then define the following before being able to delve into this: * What is your understanding of acceptable evidences? * How do you determine the relative strength of various evidences? Actually the real issue is not myself or someone else proving this to you, rather what will satisfy you as a good enough proof. It is obvious that you ardently hold to your beliefs, and it is seen that people reject perfectly good evidences only on the basis of those.
If you are really interested then we can proceed on this by email.

We hindus should now put a sign boards on all hindus temple writing SONIA GANDHI AND CONGRESS MANS ARE NOT ALLOWED please boycout all these hypocrites from our religious temples as they are diving this country and let us not happen this again and show the hindus power. please spread the massage and stop CONGRESS PEOSONS from entering our religious places.

If you have read Harry Potter, it is stated very clearly that it is fiction and will remain fiction for another 5000 years, if at all someone read this book that long. Usually fictions have very short life, about 10 to 20 years. Very good fiction carries weight possibly for 50 years and not beyond and then slowly fade away. Not the epics like Ramayana and Mahabharath, because they are real. Ignorants and I D I O Ts always talk other wise.

Oh no...Jesus and others (non Hindus) are a different catagory...We are not even allowed to say anything bad about them...or how else can you explain how a virgin Mary gives birth to a child....Ha ha ha... And I believe at those time test tube babies were not there.

I personally dislike BJP's dharma issue. The political leaders are not devotees nor they have got any concepts of practising dharma. They have got some agenda but mostly they have politicised the dharma.
On the other hand I would request the readers - just because some one has shown interest and written a relevant topic that relates to dharma - is not supposed to be mixed with politics or should not ben seen as standing on the stage with the politicians.
Science and History and the modern analysts also differ in conclusions. Again conclusions change from time to time. We are advanced in Scientific understanding but our advancements are too limited to confer anything that occurred in tens of hundreds of thousands of years ago.
This writer should not be blamed for any reason. Who can tell me that NASA may also not be neutral in giving conclusive directions on Sri Ram Setu.
Dear brothers from several parts of the world - please by our position, whatever dharma you are supposed to follow - please follow it consciously. If you are a Muslim, be a good muslim. If you are a vishuddha Hundu, be a good devotee. There is no gain for anyone to blasphae the other religious persons. If you can - learn to praise. Praise anything that is Good. Anything related to God, Allah, Bhagava - are transcendental subjects. These topics are beyod just "good", these are "transcendental."

I agree with your views, except for a few points. I am of strong opinion that Dharma should come to politics even, and only this will help cleaning up politics. All these years before the British and the Muslim invasion, India was ruled by rulers who held Dharma supreme. We lost to them as our faith in our Dharma dwindled. Moreover, Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life which teaches one to lead a life in a civilized way. Considering this the government must consider all the people of India to be Hindus and not differentiate anyone. This alone will remove the caste and religion politics. BJP alone is not at fault, all the political parties have made such a situation that one cannot blame BJP in their deeds.
