Pledge never to vote for the UPA or Left parties ever..
by Jatin Hegde on Sep 16, 2007 05:53 AM  Permalink

Am not aligned to any party but i feel the UPA is doing everything to hurt Hindu (& Buddhist, Jain & Sikh) sentiments, everything it can.. Lets take a pledge not to support the Congress, any of the parties in the UPA or the Left, and spread awareness about the same. This is the only way we can get even.. the only way..

Time for the biggest democracy to find its roots has come
by suhas shanboughe kulai on Sep 16, 2007 05:21 AM  Permalink

Its a pity that even after boasting about India being the biggest democracy and being most secure country has to endeavour with majority bashing. It is the only counrty in the world where the so called secular governtment that is in power makes sure that it does everything it possibly can, to hurt the sentiments of the majority and please the minorities. It is a irony that just because a opposition government does some thing good during its regime the current government which has whole heartedly converted us to a 3rd world country tries to disassemble the wheels of progress in the name of reservations. Then there is the talk of brain drain. Will all the talented people have the willpower t dare and fight the barracks around in the name of religion and reservations to find solace in home country. I think the time has come for the majorities to unite and fight for a real seculer country as per normal mans dictioray and not the politicians one. Hope we do it before it is too late. I frankly hope all the politicians who are responsible for the pseudo democracy in India do not have a say in shaping this countries future from now on.

Greatness of Hinduism - Jai Shri Ram
by Mike on Sep 16, 2007 04:56 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Daniel Kamaraj,

Let me explain Hinduism to you first: The essence of Vedas say "Ekam Sat, Vipra Bahuda Vadanti" - The truth or God is one, wise men call it by different names. We call it Brahman - The supreme Being. To know the unknown, we represent it by idols. Hindus know that whatever God they pray, it reaches the ultimate. That's why we are secular by blood. That's the reason we go to church, consider allah as god too. A pond can be reached by four different steps leading to it. All paths lead to the same pond. The followers of this Dharma (Sanatan Dharma - Eternal concept) were worldwide. The aborigines of Australia still worship a God called Siva who has a third eye and is smeared with ashes. Who else can it be?

Now kaliyug starts: It is said :'KALOU KALMASHA CHITHTHAANAM' meaning 'In Kaliyuga all minds are impure'. New religion starts springing up. What Jesus said is lost and the saints come up with 99% of the bible (Have you read the Red-letter bible?) to erase the Sanatan Dharma and come up with just one religion, one path and one god. They say all other Gods are fake, all paths are false, only God Jesus exists (Is he God or Son of God??). The same goes with Muslims. The problem starts when each one says there is only one God and that is my God.

That;s the reason we have Crusades, 9-11 etc etc. No Hindu killed any other person to convert him to follow Hindu gods. Because as I said, they respect other Gods by nature of their preachings and from birth.

continued..

THIS BIGGEST STRENGTH OF HINDUS IS THEIR BIGGEST WEAKNESS. No chritian or muslim is secular, if they are then they cease to be christian/muslim as it goes against their preachings. They name others as Heathens/Pagans/Kafirs.

I am talking now to christian converts, the earlier Hindu : Please understand the concepts of Hindusim. If you have a y doubts, clarify it from Gurus who are experts in the field. Or read from Books. Guess you are a tamilian. If so, read "Artham ulla Hindu matham" by the great lyricist Kannadasan (earlier atheist, became theist). And then think of converting to other religion. Read what Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi have to sysa of conversions. They hated it intensely. Changing religion is like changing your mother. Can you ever think of such a thing?

Now dont start typing in haste and out of impulse all your Hindu bashing statements. I am neither a Hindu, RSS, VHP , Bajrang Dal guy. I am a Christian. Well I am not now. I would rather call myself a Sanathanin. Follower of Eternal Dharma. Follower of Vedas. The true Knowledge.

I cannot agree with you more on this. I am not sure how hinduim or as you can call sanathan dharma will survive in the onslaught of agressive mutually exclusive abrahmic religions.

As you say, we respect everyone's beliefs, so we have respect for christian and muslim beliefs. But they respect only their beliefs and will go to any extent to show that others are wrong.

Let us hope we attain nirvana by the end of this birth

Ram Sethu - A matter of faith
by Count Meout on Sep 16, 2007 04:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On matters of faith, there is no need for evidence. If evidence was to be the basis, then religion would never have survived since dawn of civilisation. Its only in India that politicians exploit 'faith' with violence to suit their political goals. People must have the liberty to pursue faith without fear. If evidence was to be the basis, then perhaps Israel would never have existed. Hence, there must be room for 'Faith' and 'Sentiments' - this should not be 'bull-dozed' with 'rationalism. The CM of TN being a rationalist has a right to question, but it is another matter to ride rough-shod. Yes - economics matter - but should only Economics matter? Why can't 'Faith' matter?

The encyclopedic information about Lord Sri Rama and Krsna is available in the Vedic literature.Lord Rama and Krsna are nondifferent. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead or simply God.He has many names,Madhav,Kesav,Shyamsunder,Radhakanta,Giridhari etc.People from different religious backgroud, nations, call Him by different names, like,Buddha,Allah,Khuda,Christ,Jehovah,Yahaweh etc.God is sat,cit ananda vigraha.Vigraha means form.So His form is made of eternality, knowledge and bliss. Our vigraha is made of 'pancha bhooth' or the five material elements;earth, water, fire, air and ether. An infinitesimal particle of Lord Sri Rama's Supreme Spiritual Self called 'atma' energises and creates the consciousness in our material bodies. So we too like God is eternal.Only the body keeps changing. The spirit soul, 'atma' cannot be slain, burnt, cut into smaller particle or dissolved in liquid or dried. When the atma leaves the body, technically we call it death.Actually the body is dead to begin with, since it is made of inanimate matter. The presence of the soul animates the body. With every 'body' comes birth, death, disease and old age.The only way to avoid this cycle of birth and death is not to take birth. In other words to exist in our eternal spiritual self.Under the influence of 'maya'Lord Krsna's illusory potency we have forgotten that we, the 'atma' is part and parcel of Krsna(Rama),the Supreme Spirit. This forgetfullness is the cause of the present strife worldwide.Re-establishing our relat

Re-establishing our relationship with God can be easily acheived in this Kali Yuga by chanting Hare Krsna,Hare Krsna,Krsna,Krsna,Hare,Hare,Hare Rama,Hare Rama,Rama,Rama,Hare,Hare.Nowadays the leaders of our country have even gone to the extent of denying the existence of God.These leaders are voted to power by the public who think likewise.Schools, colleges, and universities do not impart the vital information of the Vedic literature to the students. The result is for all to see.

1] In which century did Ram live? Wikipedia.com says "Valmiki Ramayana is dated variously from 500 BCE to 100 BCE". Do history books tell about Rama and any events which took place during his time?

Ramayana says treta yuga. Since hindu texts were translated by earlier missionaries. They tried to put all other religions within 4000 years bc.

2] What species of monkey did Hanuman belong to? Garuda, Jambuvan etc belong(ed) to which species?

If we go by darwin's theory, they shud have belonged to apes. Anyway, if man can explain all the things in the world, man wud be the god.

3] Where are those monkey species now who could walk, talk and even managed perform services to Ram?

4] Was Ram actually blue skinned as depicted in many story books? (same about Krishna as well)

No Ram and Krishna are utter dark, negroids. Since current hindus have affinity for white skin, they depict their gods as blue.

5] If it is said that Ram & Sita are God and they assumed human form on earth, then how did Sita scientifically surive the pyre (fire) when she sat in it to prove her loyalty?

Again this is faith, not science. There are lot of things science cannot explain.

6] Did Ram die? If yes, then when and where? How is Naarad or Valmiki connected to Ram in real life?

Valmiki looked after sita when Lord ram followed his duty as king and forgo Sita.
