BUT my question is what is the problem in speaking JAI HIND. I posted a comment in which i played a trick of saying it is in our anthem, had he known this that it is not in anthem he would have replied me very fast
Its surprising how the tone of the article changed from something sensible to religious overtones!
Heck it shocked me even more when i sat down reading the messages!
No wonder everyone mocks India, heck for all i care go ahead and destroy the setu, whats the use when educated morons in this country go ahead and write such articles and more baffoons come up with such messages about Hindus and Muslims.
it is this very nature of us Indians that gives the politicians enuf reasons to play the Trump card of religion.
Why do we have to discuss about what muslims are and what are Hindus. Hell, its a discussion about the setu which is nothing but a natural wonder connecting the two lands of India and Sri Lanka.
Although there is a house that debates about the benefits of removing to the Navy and Merchant ships, there is a lobby that is right in arguing about it being a natural wonder.
Yet it is a shame that there is even a lobby that is discussing who raped Sita and how many wives did Prophet have!
Cmon people of India, you are educated citizens, be better than this and stop giving a shameful name to our country!
It does not matter what you say. If patriotism was so cheap and just verbal, we would be doing great. But that is far from the truth. I want our nation to progress. I am in favor of all illegal structures constructed that hinder our progress.
There is a middle ground to this problem. Best solution is to do a "Suez Canal".
Have a small section carved out, suffient for NAVY/Merchant ships to cross (Taking into consideration the Future demand).
There can be monuments (Private, No government Money) built on either side for the Hindus to practise their faith.

Take a look at this map http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/sri_lanka_pol00.jpg Expand on it Please !
You will see the thin strip of land ending at Dhanushkodi
Couple of miles before Dhanushkodi you will see that the land is thinnest.
Dig a Canal there !!!! It will not be a major feat. A Simple feat of Engineering which will take 2-3 years. This canal will be 0.6 miles wide. Which is wide enough for ships to pass.
That is all there is to it. You will be preserving RAM SETU and also accomplish the objective of cutting a passage from PALK STRAIT to the GULF OF MANNAR.

Does it say anyplace that you SHOULD say "JAI HIND" ?
Does it say (LAW or Constitution) that an INDIAN needs to say "JAI HIND" ?
Free yourself from these shallow and symbolic patriotism. Pay your takes (Income and Sales)...Do not bribe cops...That will do much good to India that this "JAI HIND"

Jai Hind is a salutation most commonly used in India in speeches and communications pertaining to or referring to patriotism towards India (also known as Hind). It means roughly "Victory to India" or "Long live India". The Indian freedom fighter Dr.Champakaraman Pillai, introduced the salutation. It has since captured the imagination of Indians and has been immortalised by Subhash Chandra Bose as the battlecry of the Indian National Army.
Famous Freedom Fighter Sri Ramchandra Moreshwar Karkare of Gwalher Madhya Bharat, from inspiration of Netaji S.C.Bose, had written and published a Drama-(Natak)in Hindi, a very popular book, Jai Hind.
Currently army and paramilitary soldiers in India use this salutation to address the officers of superior rank.

I have the right NOT to say JAI HIND. I want to use JAI BHARAT as my salutation.
I believe JAI HIND does not make sense as it is NOT in agreement with the Indian Constitution.

It sad that your patriotism is limited to "Jai Hind". Which itself is flawed as there is no country called "Hind"

Just for the record, Shubash Chandra Bose was brave but lacked strategic thinking...He wanted INDIA to align with the Japanese and Germany to fight against the allied forces. Remember what happened to Japan and Germany after WW-II.
