1st of all this sethusamundram project that costs 2,600 crores is NOT GOING TO HELP ANYONE....listen to what experts have to say...
(1) Capt. H. Balakrishnan (former indian navy sailor now joined merchant navy) said that "I've studied this project like a mariner & found that project helps no one. No ship of more than 30,000 tonnes of weight will be able to use this channel bcoz of it's depth" coz this channel is just 12 meters deep...& larger ships require more space....in fact no foreign company nowadays use 30,000 ton ships....actually normanlly shipping cos use 45,000 ton plus ships.
(2) Anjani Sinha of MCX says that even indian shipping cos will also NOT GET ANY BENEFIT from this project.
(3) Arun Sharma, president of Kolkata based shipping co also said that they will not use this channel as Govt has already given them notice to stay 50 nautical miles away from Sri Lankan coast line bcoz of Security threat from LTTE. but if they use this channel they will go within 15 miles distance from SL coast line....that means JAAN KO JYAADA KHATRA.
(4)Even some experts say that channel will not save 24 hours time to cross indian southern part...as to cross the channel a ship will need experienced pilot...that takes time & larger ships will need to turn off their propellers...or else they will run aground. Getting a pilot, then move the ship slowly & then off-board the pilot take 2-3 hrs each. So shipping cos will hardly save 2-3 hrs. which is not justified. [GO THRU TODAY'S MINT
It seems that we have the WORST PM and let to say the WORST cabinet of minister in the Indian history, Each have no selfrespect and will do any thing for any thing. When we see Sonia gandhi ordering most of the works of the govt it proves we have a bunch of FOOLs on the deck.
It is very much surpricing about the affidavit of ASI about the existance of Rama.No doubt,Rama existed in the country worshipped by millions of Hindus since 1700000years. He won a great war ,He was the most power full on the Indian subcontinent. That is why he is worshipped since Hindus worship to power or symbol of power.
There may be a lot of changes in the story of ramayan in 17 million years and different people have different ramayan like valmiki ramayan, tulsidas ramayan periyar ramayan, ambedkar,s riddles of ramayan. All may have differnt story and context but all agreed on the existance of Rama.
Adams bridge/rama setu may not be built by Rama but you can not deny his existance.
The concerned minister should apologise to the nation for hurting millions of Hindus. Famous poet Iqbal say " Hei Ram ke wajood per hindustan ko naaz, kahtein hein log usko imame hind"

You are right Zaheen. No body can deny the existance of Adam's bridge. Even it is not a man made structure and has no religous value, why are you destroying it? It has been in existance for thousands of years. Destroying it would be equivalent to the destruction of famous Bamia buddhas by Taleban. Only difference is that this time it would be done in our own conutry and by our own people.

Zaheen... i m not sure about ur real identity but if u r a muslim thn we r proud of u.. we need ur kind of people to exist in every society specially in indian sub-continent, where people are fighting with their own brothers for useless matters. we need to build a new society based on co-existace which was essence of Indian society for millions of years.... come lets discover it again
It is the question of people's faith and faith is not guided by logic. It does not matter whether it is proved or not that Ram existed.People are least bothered about government's affidavits about Ram. But it hurts when politicians for their own mean ends create useless issues and play with the sentiments of people. Be it Advani, Bhardwaj,Laloo, Karat or Sonia they are all same. Sab ki jaat ek hai. They have been working for their own mean interests. They disrupt the parliamant without any having second thoughts, waste your and my hard earned money. They unite when it is in their own interest like hiking their salaries or denying Dr. APJ Kalam a second term.
We have been let down by our politcians and it is high time that we common people, unite and teach them a lesson by voting them out or campaign for 'NOT FIT FOR OUR VOTE' option in the ballot.

NEAR A VILLAGE THERE WERE TWO RAIL TRACKS, ONE OF THEM WAS A LIVE TRACK AND THE OTHER ONE WAS NOT IN USE . THERE WAS A KID PLAYING ON THE DEAD TRACK AND THERE WERE 5 KIDS PLAYING ON THE LIVE RAILWAY TRACK. AFTER SOME TIME A MAN SAW A TRAIN APPROACHING ON THE LIVE TRACK. HE WAS NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO WARN THOSE 5 KIDS BUT INCIDENTALLY HE WAS CLOSE TO THE CONTROL WHICH CAN CHANGE THE TRACK. SO HE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE TRACK LET THE SINGLE CHILD BE KILLED RATHER THAN THOSE 5 KIDS, ALTHOUGH THE 5 KIDS KNEW THAT THEY ARE PLAYING ON THE LIVE TRACK, BUT FINALLY THERE LIVES GOT SPARED BUT THE KID WHO TOOK FOLLOWED THE RULES STILL GOT KILLED.

This is what is happening to hindus like the child playing on unused track, but still being punished

Beautifully said! it explains how the true and correct person is being punished because of his keep distance from wrong

It is a wrong decision by the man. The driver should have followed the original track. Because the children play on the live track may be prepared for the train whereas the one on the abandoned track is no way expecting the train to come to his way.

If govt (no matter whether it is Cong., BJP, Left) plans out something that is in interest of the society then that plan should be realized even if it hurts someones religious sentiments.
Religions were meant for the progress of society and not to put a stop on it. Extremism in any sense is bad ... be it hindutva or any other religion.
If we say we are Hindus then why we forget that in Gita it is said that the only constant thing in this creation is change. Everything changes with time and so should the religious rules and rituals.
If we fail to survive then what will we do with the religion? Is there anyone who believes that someone will come from heaven to save us?

No Body is stopping the government if they do something in the interest of the society. but the government is questioning the faith of the people of this country who have worked hard and are still burning their oils to make this country the best. the government should stop provoking a law abiding section unnecessarily

Any project touching nature is detrimental for the environment. This is a big mess that will be realised in the next few decades.
Our people are far too emotional and love to twist situations to make them look more macabre than they actually are. I think we Indians are our own worst enemy. This whole issue is so ludicrous and the passion shown by all and sundry on this website is a sad commentary of our land. No wonder we are known as Indian crabs. Leave them in a basket and you don't need a lid, one will pull the other back. It is time we rose as a confident people not bound by inner insecurities. Who can wish away a religion of a billion people? certainly not any government or body of humans on this planet, so whats the noise about? why can't we get away from emotive outbursts and see matters in a more rationale way? Is Hinduism such a fragile religion that a single opinion of a low ranked legal eagle can disintegrate it? The stupidity of a lawyer should not send us into a hysteria. We need to be balanced and civilised, there are ways of righting the wrong committed but castigating and foul mothing every one is certainly not one of them.
