Yes. No caste in TN. But among general public. Still DMK / DK group has that. Also, the Dalits are not able to function as panchayat leaders. Mr Arun, I am from TN and u can not hide facts.
Why bring religion into the developments of countries. Let the statements come and why hinder the development by bringing in old histories. Let India develop build more bridges and develop and join with the developed countries. We always try to push ourselves backward when the whole world is going forward. Leave alone the religion Ram or christ. Just look into the developments we need in todays world for us and for our future generations. Do the things which would help our future generations as were done by Britishers which we are enjoying even today. Leave the religion aside and enjoy the freedom and improve in life instead of being orthodox and backward.

plzz retain ur advices with u. in the present state where the govt is ready to fall to any depth for appeasing christians and muslims, we hindus have the right to ask for our stature. we are not objecting to the developments. the construction of canal can be done by adapting alternate means. but since the sonia manio ghandi govt is christian favour in activities they are not laying emphasis on the alternate ways.plzzz reply

Actually the existence of Christ is rather well-documented. Every Roman historian worth his salt mentioned "Christus" as a "Jewish leader" who fomented revolutions against the Roman Empire in the time of Tiberius.
Exactly thats what every sensible person wants, development, prosperity and harmony. But to keep a name or have an identity for your son or daughter(your so called future generation-future generation starts from your family)it is important to know your past, so even going forward you look back, if you dont you r not called a human. And i don't think you would be delighted if someone is throwing shit at your past and hurting your sentiments. So let us hope that GOD will give some sense to these people and concentrate on development without hurting anyones sentiments.

What are the possibilities that the government stand quetioning the very existence of Rama will be used by fundamentalists in the below ways.
1. Hindus Fundamentalists to polarise the hindu votes.
2. Muslims to to promote their religion
2. Christian missionaries to promote christianity utilising the govt view on Rama.
I personally feel that Congress / DMK / Communists will not have taken this stand had this had involved Muslim or Christian sentiments. This is Pseudo secularism at its worst.
You see, the religious people -- most of them -- really think this planet is an experiment. That's what their beliefs come down to. Some god or other is always fixing and poking, messing around with tradesmen's wives, giving tablets on mountains, commanding you to mutilate your children, telling people what words they can say and what words they can't say, making people feel guilty about enjoying themselves, and like that. Why can't the gods leave well enough alone? All this intervention speaks of incompetence. If God didn't want Lot's wife to look back, why didn't he make her obedient, so she'd do what her husband told her? Or if he hadn't made Lot such a shithead, maybe she would've listened to him more. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? The move to prove or disprove that Ram existed based on material evidence is like trying to pretend that we are supreme and know everything. The realm of science is what we know now and that of philosophy is the open mind to accept or modify our ways of thinking in the light of newer knowledge. Sad that a country claiming to have such a long cherished heritage should come down to the level of mentally immature and sick! Try telling the world that Allah or Jesus never existed and see how their believers respond! What we do know now is our knowledge of the past is very meagre as we know only of recorded history, the present we are trying to understand and the future is beyond our wildest imagination.
