Some Dumb Asses have made this North-South issue.

Dummies, your Baap, ASI has given their decision on the existance of Rama and Ramayana. Who the hell government to decide on religious beliefs of billions of people? Do they decide religious discussions in other faiths? Their hypocrisy and insensitivity is the core issue.

I see from your posts that you are a faithful follower of Karunanidhi and his selective aethist ideas and other related rubbish. What will the Government lose if the canal is rerouted? Saying that there is no evidence for Ram and Ramayana is not the issue. One can give innumerable examples from other religious scriptures to question the very faith of those religions. The point here is whether the Government will respect the sentiments expressed and agree to reroute the canal. This it is unwilling to do for fear of antagonizing MK, the Senile Old Man of the South, who is bent upon humiliating Hindu beliefs as much as possible. And with people like you to support him, he may well succeed.

The main reason for this project is.
1.to reduce the travel time of ships and not focus on revenues to india.
2.If it is rerouted the main objective of this project will be affected.

no one will use it and it will be a big failure.

As i am tamil,i know the value of this project.

i have went many times to rameshwaram and seen this bridge ,than u guys.

dont shed crocodile tears here.

it is TN property we know how to handle it.

By your reasoning the Qutb Minar is the property of Delhi, Taj Mahal that of the UP etc. You think only of the Revenue. What about the fishermen whose livelihood is at stake? And the bridge acted like a breakwater during the tsunami of 2004. Fianally, I am a Tamil too, so don't give me that rubbish.

Arun,

Please check the facts on rerouting before concluding that the main objective of the project will be affected. There are 6 alignments which can be used for the project and 2 of them will have no impact on Ram sethu and may be cost effective as it reduces the distance as well.

Bias!
by sid on Sep 12, 2007 10:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the same govt protected the qutub minar and changed the delhi metro rail route. the qutub minar built from the stones of a hindu temple. the same govt protected the Taj mahal from the widening of the Taj corridor. the same Govt banned the movie da vinci code because Christians would feel bad. this same govt now has the guts to question Ram and his existence and our faith. and say no proof to show he existed. then want to destroy the bridge which will directly imply that they beleive HE never existed. what kind of communal bias is this and they call themselves secular. and whoever supports Ram or talks against this govt is called Communal and Fascist etc. what double standards are these.come on people realise those who call themselves secular are not really secular. look through the media bias , touch your heart and ask are they secular . keep the above examples in mind.

Sid,
"Ram and his existence and our faith"

You mentioned Govt is questioning the Lord Ram's Existence, its not correct. Its all about the Bridge and Historical Evidence for it.No Govt in the world can provide the Evidence to the God, because simply its not possible. The faith in God is a personal belief.

INDIA SHINING
by shrikrishna dhale on Sep 12, 2007 10:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Supreme court has given good tight slap on the face of Praveen Togadia by stating that there was no historical evidence to establish the existence of Lord Ram or the other characters in Ramayana. So Mr. Togadia stop all these political stunts and do not come in the way of development of India. Few people like you are taking india backwards instead making INDIA SHINING.

What development? You mean to say this development will not come about if you reroute the canal from the present route? MK, the Senile Old Man of the south, will do anything to ridicule the Hindus. Sonia will do anything to please him. Does this make it clear why the Centre and MK are hell bent on the project?
