It is surprising that the Government would oppose this based on "lack of archaeological evidence" for existence of Ram / Ramayana etc. I see "atheistic" tendencies of the current central, state governments. If they had based the rejection based on some other scientific reasons (such as faster movement of goods / ships / better protection for Indian waters or whatever) I believe it would have been more acceptable to the Indian masses. Are they saying hundreds of millions of Indians - for several hundred years - are making fools of themselves by reading / spreading Ramayana and Mahabharata? The governments should stay away from interfering with people's belief systems and various cultural trends and mythologies. They should focus on building roads, schools, hospitals and reducing corruption!

For some peaceful terrorists, an answer is the peace emanating from a dead body... the silence.
Instead of mentioning about Rama Bridge, we hindus should have created a story telling that Jesus or Allah had pizzed in the Indian Ocean in that place. Am sure the central government would have stopped the Sedhu samudram project.
History: An account, mostly false, of events, mostly unimportant, which are brought about by rulers, mostly knaves, and soldiers, mostly fools. (Ambrose Bierce)

Srinivas, please do not support such statements. I'm sure the Ram you believe would be very unhappy of you. I can understand the anger but still it's Sri Ram's way. Thanks, Faruk

Beware of dogs. Brown converts are trying to divide Hindus on North-South and East-West. This is the time to be united irrespective of our differences. Else History will repeat itself and Hindus will be ruled by the illegitimate decendants of foriegn invaders.

it always selects issues which do not matter, but which have the effect of eroding the confidence of hindus.
it picked the babri masjid issue and constantly kept focussing on demolition of temples.actually, the muslim rulers just replaced the hindu rulers.if the ruler was good at governance, like akbar, things went on smoothly.
on the other hand,if the ruler was a despot, rebellions would break out, like they did.
the bjp is in the business of making the hindus feel insecure and inferior ,to get votes.
it always makes big fuss about non issues.
A few of our educated friends have again fallen into the trap laid by the BJP.
