There is a funny gov in karnataka
by rama prasad on Sep 11, 2007 10:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some facts about this goverment how it is functioning and the people there.
Let me tell u I am a BJP supporter. But still I dont like this BJP-JD(S)(secular my foot). Goverment in karnataka. Devegowda is one of the most oppurtunistic politician I have heard about in the history of India. The level of the gov is like any other muncipality grade. No one in the gov has any knowledge about what they are doing. This CM is the son of Devegowda who stays in the houses of Dalit in villages (Not to do any implementation or incresing their living standard) it is just a guimmick. He was a movie producer before becoming CM. Actually Devegowda is the one who runs the government. He some times talks which no body understands including himself.
The SM Krishna, the congress CM was 1000 times better than this Devegowda son. First they banned liqquor( Good move) now they banned cell phones (They dont know why they have banned) They made Helmet rule for two wheelers Which just comes and goes like a rain in a day. (Helmet lobby is strong in Karnataka). Totally this is a screwed up gov. I wish some good educated guy like SM Krishna or any educated person which ever the party he belongs will become CM and improve the IT and BT state of India.

SHUT UP... how is banning cellphones in schools private? Do you know why in schools they have dresscode? So that kids can feel equal instead one kid wearing heavy jewellery, other kid wearing torn clothes... Equating banning cell phones in schools to BS you have written is pure ignorance!

Oh my god! How stupid can one be ??... You are right that it is good to ban cell phones in school. But, how can you be stupid by equating banning cell phones in schools to banning their sale to kids altogether ???

Why??
by rajeev nair on Sep 11, 2007 09:04 PM  Permalink

Also i feel mobile phones are a boon to working parents to know the where abouts of kids ... Why cant the schools think of checking the kids, keeping mobile phones in custody till school time ends ... And they can give it back by school time. But the school fellows will have additional responsibility ... Parents will complain about the loss of phones etc... But are we talking about kids who dont have mobile phones and the feelings.. I accept that too...But cannot digets the fact of banning it...

STUPID

As long as the kids are not affected healthwise, i dont feel anything wrong with mobile phones. I dont understand why the mobile phones are "hindrance" to kids ???

You are probably wasting time by assuming that politicians take decisions logically. They have to make their presence felt or they want some ransome from cell phone companies..Think in this angle!..you'll easily get answers.

excellent decision
by ashok pai on Sep 11, 2007 08:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

even though there's not enough indication for health damage, as yet, by popular media and doctors (until, there's proof positive and cell phone companies have stopped making buck off the cell phones, or if the governments finally all over the world decide mobiles might do damage , they'll never agree about cell phones doing any damage); nevertheless, its good because, its bringing asymetry in the schools. for example - a rich kid sports a p1i or a nokia 9 series, which only business users use. so, naturally, it creates an intense disparity in the school. i for one detest such a practice where "showing off" culture is passed onto kids. some parents deliberately want to arm thier kids with the latest toys, citing, they are kids and throw tantrums if not for the very best!

Well , the disparity of kids talk about the parents ... My son( 10 year old) have a basic Nokia ( B&W ) MODEL ... I didnt see him crying about the model he has .. but sure he appreciates that he can call us at the end of the day so that all 3 of us are happy ...

Mr Nair, it is rather on the basis of health hazard that the mobile can cause to the kids. Your son might be using it just to call you, but all are not like your son,... so I think its a good decision keeping in view the larger interest. And you could collectively request the school authority provide better landlines service in the school campus.

BAN USE OF MOBILE
by ravi g on Sep 11, 2007 08:19 PM  Permalink

I request HDK govt. to ban use of mobile in public places, who disturb others by their act like using Camera mobile, speaking all their personal problems in public at the maximum knowing fully they are in public, checking ring tones, etc.

Thanks for the correction.
I will accept if this decision stays atleast for the next 19 months. These decisions are taken perhaps to attract Mobile manufacturers rather than anybody else.
