There is theory in economics that says"either choose one generation sacrifice everything so that the next generation will be very prosperous or let all the generations have something and be prepared to remail continually poor, generation after generation!"
After partition one generation of India sacrificed everything and the current generation of Indians have something to cherish the rewards of those sacrifices in economic terms thanks to IT revolution etc.

WIth that money Indian poured into this bottomless pit for 6 decades and also into North East your nation could easily been on par with West-Europe
