INDIA will never ever be awakened, responsible and prosper till the continuing form of governance changes, i.e., from the Prime Minister's rule to the Presidential Rule as it is in the United States. Surely corruption exists in the United States, but never beyond immeasurable control and this is why their infrastructure has solidified and help them build in to the Superpower of the world. We, Indians, though are blessed with the most intelligent minds in the world, we, who have led R&D labs in the US to develop some of the most advanced technological solutions, have yet to stabilise our own economy. Though, according to Forbes, India may have the most number of entrants in to the Billionaires list, yet our economy never escalates to beyond a certain point.Why?? This gap between the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak, the employer and the employee will only grow larger with the passage of time. Believe me folks, you will witness this in the forth coming years. About the government addressing these issues, be it northern india or southern india, these issues will be addressed only when witnessed in the extreme because I would not blame them, as for them it is merely a question of self sustenance before the government collapses in to another who takes on their seats only to enhance their own bank balances. I would blame us, who have allowed such a system to flourish. UNTIL WE STRENGTHEN THE FOUNDATION OF OUR BUILDINGS,THEY ARE BOUND TO COLLAPSE IN A STORM!
We dont deserve the beautiful North East. Bcoz of our attitude towarsd the NE the people there hate us and do not consider themselves Indians. Wots their fault we are to be blamed for this. Shame Shame

I agree fully with this comment. The NE is a culturally rich and a bio-diverse region of India, which we should not treat as "the problem area". India's growth strategies have to reach all four corners, and not just the delhi-mumbai-kolkatta-bangalore circuit.
If any other country would have had places just like these seven sisters (north east states), they would have have made billions in tourism. This way the locals too would have had employment and job opportunities. Sad that RSS backed BJP also did nothing during their tenure. WAKE UP INDIA.
Put all the politicians behind bar and lets have army rule for the next 10 years. Clean up the full system off corruption and then get back to democracy.
This is really a thought provoking article. It is very much true that most of things happening in our country are allowed to go their own way and in case of an eventuality, our govt. suddenly starts taking action, only to conceal the truth from the general public and shows no interest or will to solve a problem genuinely.
do they want to make it a cauldron for other elections ? why did BJp ignore north east when it was in power ? the politicians have blinkered vision. they little further than delhi.
The article is an eye opener of the situation in north east. Our leaders behave like impotents in front of the adversary. Why India has so much trouble while others like China remain peaceful? Because China first shoots then talks. How many of our leaders know the real situation there? The kind of interest shown to please America is not shown to save the country. Out capital should be shifted to the East.

People elsewhere vote for petty isuue, for their galli, lane & bathroom. Jai Hind ! More CRP, BSF more permit(visa) within INDIA. Jai Hind ! This is not a country at all.

seriously, north east is so beautiful, yet we continue to squander a great resource, diverse people and places. the politicians need to be brought closer to the ground. half of them are busy with thier loot, they hardly have time for anything else. the opposition is no good either. they have only one tactic, and thats to boycott, the assembly, instead of bringing out the corrupt practices of the ruling.
