nagaland's plight
by Rahul Jadhav on Jan 25, 2009 02:59 PM  Permalink

i really feel that the issue here is not about issuance of inner line permits.the rest of india really needs to learn more about the northeast as it is a beautiful place more importantly with beautiful people. there has to be an effort from the government to encourage more nagas to get employed and visit the rest of india. if the govt. continues its apathetic attitude, it should not be a surprise if tommorow bangaladeshi insurgents wield more authority than the locals or the central govt.

INNER LINE PERMIT.
by suchet bal on Feb 16, 2008 10:28 AM  Permalink

In 1873 when the Inner Line Permit was introduced in Naga hills it was a dangerous place for outsiders including Nagas themselves. Naga tribes were very hostile to outsiders including Nagas of other tribes. Head hunting was a practice where the tribes would hunt the outsiders entering their territories and hang their victims cut heads outside their houses to show their acts of bravery. The Inner Line Permit kept record of who entered Naga Hills and where they went and when they returned to ensure that they are not killed by head hunters thinking them to be intruders in their Naga territories. But today 60 years after Independence Nagas have become peaceful people and live harmoniously with each others tribes. The Inner Line Permit is today continuing so that the illegal entry of Non-Indians could be stopped from entering Nagaland and other hill states of North East on Indian International border.

Attention to Mr. Tarun Vijay: Delhi fiddles????
by Mustafa Ahmed Barbhuiya on Oct 20, 2007 08:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is very much pleasing to read your article "Delhi fiddles..the NE burns".I like to thank U that some one is concerned about NE india from the mainstream. We are loosing so many precious lives in day to day terrorist activities but the mainstream India (Delhi) never minds! But I would like to ask you one important QUESTION that how many number of ULFA, NSCN,BORO(BLT),DIMASA(DHG),ATTF millitants who are actively engaged in such type of destructive activities and insugency are MUSLIMS? I have the answer, I gauranty, you will not find a single head. I doubt the credibility of intelegence report you cited regarding any Muslim outfits in NE. Why they are so busy with these hypothetical proposisitions? Why they are unable to check on these above mentioned non-muslim terrorist outfits active for last two decades? The multi ethinicity in the population of NE is a major problem as they have their regular infights e.g. NAGA, KUKI, RIYANG, MIJO,KARBI, DIMASA, BODO, MANIPURI(Maitei), MANIPUR(Bishnupriaya). I still remember the last years ethnic riots of Karbi Anglong hill district where hundreds of Karbis and Dimasas were died in the clashhes between the two groups. The major muslim migration to the upper part of Assam from east bengal occured before the year 1946 due to political as well as economic reasons. The statistics shown by you is not authentic. Muslims in NE are particularly peaceful and I promise to the constitution (not U)that we are not against the Integrety of India.

I support your statement that 'Muslims in NE are particularly peaceful and I promise to the constitution (not U)that we are not against the Integrity of India'
However, the question is of infiltration of Bangladeshis Muslims or lets say Bangladeshis.I dont understand why you have to jump to the defence of Muslims of the NE because we are not tallking about them.We are talking of the infiltrators.
Its unfortunate that Assamese Muslims take umbrage whenever the question of infiltration comes up bcoz somehow they think that they are being targeted. And how many Assamese Muslims speak out against the Bngladeshis. The bitter truth is that Assamese Muslims seem to feel more comfortable with the Bangladeshis due to religion. The problem of infiltration will not be solved as genuine Indian Muslim Citizens allow themselves to be used as shields for the infiltrators. Any efforts to oust the infiltrators are shouted down as non secular and against the Assamese Muslim Community.

Could we stop corruption right from the top to bottom govt heirarchy. could we think about the people at last sitting in the bench needs water to drink.
NoNoNo, many few true indians think about that to do so, every 1 is greedy of money, lure , business & fillingg up their bank a/c.
why dont every 1 of us atlest do a good thing for a nation which our teacher had thaught us in our school time. every institute taught every student about their field that require true leadership quality. but this is used for their self purpose. why dont media work for NE despite long issue of politician dialouges ,N-Deal, & so on....Nation is diving by shrinking all side, why dont we took care of this. today this insurgent / terrorist startegies are moving ahead with their strategies,,,& we simply walking around fish market, were crowd happens. ministers should know about their job functions ABC to tackle the problem. Indian Armed forces are still unique org which truly fight for nation soverginity but who cares. we have to adopt the terrorist strategies to counter attack them to oust from the nation.
whole india should realised about NE as our brotherhood state not recognised as as naxalite area.
we youngsters should work sincerly for the nation in our job area to move ahead, strict laws to be made who vilotaes the rules / constitutuoonal law.high minister should b punished if they had violate laws. CBI / investigation agencies should slove the cases in min. time.

BJP: A Party of Liability

BJP: A Party of Liability

On the way of my travel, I have passed by a huge water tank. I was curiously enjoying my co-travellers' discussion about it. It was situated as a symbol of corruption. Some engineers under the rule of above 100-year old political party made it. At the inauguration of the water tank, it started to work as a fountain. Nobody tried to fill it again, because the safety of the people who residing nearby.

I have been thought a lot about it like:

* If a thing is made by futile, we have no usage.
* If we think to use it, it will be a challenge.
* If we think to damage it, it is a liability.
* The best thing is to allow it to stand aright.

Then they came for Bangladeshi Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a Bangladeshi Hindu

Then they came for Kashmiri Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a Kashmiri Hindu

Then they came for Jammu Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a Jammu Hindu

Then they came for Assamese Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a Assamese Hindu

Then they came for West Bengali Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a West Bengali Hindu

Then they came for Kerala Hindus
And I did not speak out,
Because I was not a Kerala Hindu

Then Islamo- fascist terrortists, finally came for me,
And there was no one left to speak out for me.

This is what will happen, if the Hindus don't unite and stand for a government will protect their interests.

India burning
by SK on Sep 10, 2007 06:40 PM  Permalink

Not only North East. The whole of India is burning. And the congress and left continue to play blame games over different issues.

Much resources - energy, time and money are spent debating the nuclear deals. The ordinary man wonders what these morons were doing all these days. Was not a debate necessary in parliament before signing it?

The war games in the bay are what the leftists think the greatest problem India is facing.

All this while the ordinary man on the street fears for his and his dear ones' lives - a terrorist may be lurking around in the crowds, armed with a bomb. Naxals are having the time of their lives. Illegal immigrants are a growing menace.
